I’ve always been drawn to ceramics. A simple vessel can tell a story of culture, craftsmanship, and the hands that made it.
Many of the pieces in my collection were discovered during travels, each carrying a memory of a place, a maker, or a moment in time. What interests me most is not perfection, but character — the subtle irregularities, textures, and finishes that make each piece unique.

Ceramics have a way of bringing warmth and humanity to a space. They connect art, utility, and history, reminding us that the objects we live with every day can be both beautiful and deeply meaningful.

Nagomi Sundays – Fennel & Flavor

I grow fennel for more than one reason. Its feathery greens add texture to the garden, while the bulb, fronds, and seeds all find their way into the kitchen.

There is something rewarding about cooking with an ingredient that offers so much. A crisp salad, a slow-roasted dish, a fragrant stock — each part has a purpose.

At Nagomi, the garden is never just something to admire. It is something to live with. What grows here shapes the menu, inspires the meal, and reminds me that the best ingredients often begin just steps from the kitchen door.
