Alejandra Beseler is an architect and the founder of Beseler DesignWorks, who specializes in contemporary custom glass-installations and mural design. As a daughter of a prominent Chilean architect, Alejandra shared her father's interests in various architectural and artistic projects allowing her to begin developing her skill-sets and artistic style at an early age. Throughout her high-school Ale
jandra actively attended classes in drawing, painting, sewing and decorative stitching, giving her a broad foundation in the arts before attending ARCIS University in Santiago Chile to study Architecture. During her architectural studies, Alejandra made several trips to Europe, North America, and to other countries in South America, gaining her intimate knowledge of the various cultures and artistic backgrounds. Upon her return to Chile, Alejandra had fallen in love with the visual qualities of stained glass and its interaction with the light throughout the day, and wanting to express herself in a personalized hands-on approach. Her style and affinity for architecture became a perfect match for her artistic inclination to work with stained glass. From 2006-2009 Alejandra Beseler designed and produced stained glass installations for exclusive residences in Chile where her works have been highlighted in several important trade magazines and newspapers. Her installations are contemporary, drawing geometric, textural, harmonic and proportional cues from architecture. Beseler's installations are unconventional in that they are constructed without the use of lead, rather by encasing her works in glass which gives them individuality, while focusing on the qualities only stained and textured glass can provide. Motivated to expand her projects outside of Chile, Alejandra moved to San Francisco CA in 2009 and began teaching classes working with Stained Glass at the Mission Cultural Center. Since then, Alejandra Beseler has completed various custom stained glass installations, murals and watercolor projects that are gaining attention around the Bay Area.
