A closer look at our Pine Project, featured in RUE!

“This Bay Area renovation had a special twist to it—and interior designer Ling Law was excited for the challenge. “My client grew up in this house,” she tells us. “They wanted to remodel it to become their own home for their family of four today.”

The two-story property is nestled into a verdant neighborhood on the lower slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains. It’s surrounded by tall trees and lavish landscapes, and the occasional wild peacock strolls through the yard. “The homes here were built by different builders over time, and really have their own personalities and ‘feel,’” Ling explains. “This home in particular has a more contemporary ranch style to it. You might be mistaken and think you were in the Napa area when walking up.”…

Still swooning over this project and everything in it!

Most people come to a project with a sense of what they like. That’s a valuable starting point. But taste on its own tends to stay close to what’s familiar. It draws from homes you’ve seen, photos you’ve saved, and choices that feel safe. A designer’s job is to take that starting point somewhere you wouldn’t have gone on your own.

We may steer you away from your first instinct. We might recommend a darker palette in a room you pictured as bright. A ceiling detail you never thought about. Stone with more movement than feels comfortable at first. These suggestions come from years of watching how spaces TRULY feel once people live in them.

Our clients understand this. They don’t hire us to execute a list. They hire us to make the decisions they know they shouldn’t make alone, and to bring a level of thought to their home that changes how it feels to walk through every day.

The result is rarely what they imagined at the start. It’s usually better. More personal, more layered, and more theirs than anything they could have pulled from a mood board, magazine, or AI rendering.

So if your designer never challenges you, it’s worth noticing. The value is in the pushback. It’s how a beautiful home becomes an exceptional one.

If you’re planning a new build or a full renovation, we’d love to begin that conversation early, before the plans are drawn.

My background is in architecture. My work is in the relationships between spaces…the way a material decision in the kitchen reverberates through the hallway, the way a ceiling height in the entry sets the tone for everything that follows.

The details that separate a tastefully designed home from a collection of well-appointed rooms.

We manage every phase. Design development, material selections, contractor coordination, procurement, installation, final styling. Our clients are building or transforming their home entirely, and they expect a team that handles all of it with the same level of care they bring to everything else in their lives.

Thinking of building your forever home? Let’s work together.

Cohesive doesn’t mean matching. It means one point of view runs through every decision, from the floor plan to the light fixtures. The materials can change from room to room. They just need to have been planned together from the start.

We can do that. Fill out our inquiry form to get started.

There are a hundred things that happen between the first conversation and the day you walk into your finished home. Vendor sourcing. Lead time tracking. Contractor coordination. Material approvals. Site visits.

You won’t be doing any of them.

Full-service = fully taken care of.
