JOB TITLE: VISUAL DESIGNER ASSISTANT - GRAPHICS, COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING
Qualifications & Proficiencies:
Education: Preference for graduate with Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university with a major in Graphic Communications, Visual Design or other design-related field or currently enrolled in such a program. Otherwise, applicants should also be able to demonstrate experience and competency in the following areas.
Experience: at least 1 year of internship or professional work experience in visual design field within a real-world setting preferred
Digital Programs: intermediate proficiency in the all or most of the following applications:
• Adobe CC: primarily InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, LightRoom, AfterEffects, PremierPro, Acrobat,
and XD
• Photographic & Lighting experience, especially using Sony Mirrorless Camera System
• Helicon Focus (photo stacking software)
• Squarespace (for website development)
• HubSpot or other CRM Software
• Word (Pages)
• Excel (Numbers)
• Social Media Platforms - proficient with Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn and other social
interfaces
• Some experience in 3D modeling software such as Rhinoceros 3D is also helpful but not required
• LightSpeed and Shopify POS System - we will train you to use
Job Summary:
In concert with and under the direction of the Creative Director, Director of Sales & Marketing, and other relevant staff members, to work with a focus in the following areas:
• To update and maintain Web and E-commerce Sites with current information, products, imagery, etc. as needed
• To assist in the conceptualization, development and implementation of product promotions/ advertising/social media/public relations campaigns under the direction of the our media advisors
• To assist in development and organize templating systems as well as maintain brand standards and lock up systems for sales & marketing materials including the following areas: product catalogs/line-
sheets, promotional videos, email marketing, social media posting, print & online advertising, direct mail marketing, posters/signage, press releases, materials for celebrity/influencer outreach
• To assist in development and organize internal printed assets such as branded packaging, tags/labels, business cards, brochures, stationery and other communications materials
• To photograph new products as they arrive or as needed. This included both basic documentary photography as well as more creative editorial-type images and video clips.
• To assist the Creative Director and Director of Sales & Marketing in executing design concepts and documentation for product development, such as those currently included but not limited to: furniture, table top accessories, art objects, carpet patterns, jewelry, textile patterns, etc. Responsible for drafting documentation and meeting assigned deadlines using designated design and drafting programs as provided by the company.
• To be responsible for maintaining work area, showroom and backroom areas according to the store maintenance schedule and in collaboration with other employees
• When not performing design duties, the Visual Designer Assistant may be occasionally called upon to assist in the showroom and should be able to perform basic duties related to customer service and sales.
