New to Knitting? Need to dust off your skills? This beginner’s knitting class is for you. You will start with a simple instructor-led project and gain the skills and confidence to continue stitching on your own.
Pre-pay is required to reserve your seat. You may pay by phone or in store.
Materials NOT included in class fee. Please see the material list below.

Stitches you will learn:

1. Cast on

2. Knit

3. Purl

4. Bind off

5. Seaming

Techniques covered:

1. How to hold the yarn & needles

2. Counting your Stitches

3. Knitting in the round

4. Joining yarn to make a Cowl

5. Reading simple patterns

Materials for class can be purchased at Dharma:
One Skein of Malabrigo Mecha Yarn
Size 10- 16” wooden circular needle

Pre-pay is required to reserve your seat. Pay by phone or in store. Subject to cancellation if a minimum of 2 participants is not met. In the event that this happens a full refund will be issued.

🍂Don’t you just love the fall? It makes us want to buy art supplies!🍂

Recently at the Dharma Trading Store, some resourceful crafters took advantage of the free art supplies drifting down from the trees.
These are some glimpses from our Leaf Print on Wool Class, 11/9/25 at Dharma Trading Store in San Rafael. Participants created beautiful wool scarves in this workshop led by educator and natural dyer Lisa Rogers. Local foraged leaves were used with Dharma’s Climate Beneficial Verified wool scarf made in the USA(product ). While the works of art simmered away in process, discussion of local dyes and techniques like leaf pounding were explored.

Lisa Rogers is the creator and owner of SlowDigz. She worked as a science and garden educator and began following a creative path with natural dyeing. Through decades of reading, workshops and a lot of experimentation, she aims to create functional, fun, one of a kind pieces, hand dyed or printed using botanicals.
