it's funny, but I never think to post this! I am a very proud 45 year member of the SB Arts and Crafts Show (SBAACS) -> SBAACS.com
I am encouraging and inviting everyone who sees this to come down and visit us...not just when you have visitors in town...but to treat yourself to a very meaningful visit and walk along our beachfront without any pressure to buy something...but rather to visit with your own Guild members of both art & craft. We no longer have crowds, crowded sidewalks, or no place to park. In fact it is quite the opposite - so please read on...!
How I view things...our event...is not to encourage anyone to spend money or to feel ANY pressure to buy...but rather...we are here for you, only one day a week. Visits to our event are so down, that it sometimes makes a Sunday very sad for me/us? Not because of $, but rather the loss of community interaction that has been another lasting effect of the worst of the COVID pandemic. (https://www.cdc.gov/covid/index.html)
We are here for you to give YOU a happy, joyous and free day and event. Pay only a parking fee (much more relaxing to choose the $7 amount of time), and come visit us. Give YOURSELF the gift of getting out of the house and away from projects that you may want a break from. There is so much to do around our show that it becomes a much more enjoyable day for you! We have three distinctly different restaurants directly across the street from us, and slightly above us is the Funk Zone, a nice way to end your visit to us! A little further down the street is the Children's Park inside of Chase Palm Park!
My name is Marilyn L. and I am not using this post to self-promote, but rather to encourage you to enjoy your Sunday in a different and unexpected way. If you would like to find me and talk more about our artists - I am located at space #51 - easy to find.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you fully enjoy! ❤️❤️❤️

I went down State Street today it’s been a while
Going to Cross Roads
The smell of urine was strong so strong I could smell it in the store
Who would want to eat on a patio
Also next to Violets pastry in the doorway a woman had set up camp in the doorway and was passed out
I turned round and a homeless man had a cart so piled up you could see him
This is not a good place to be anymore
I had to cover my nose
No tourist wants to see and smell this
Maybe hosing down the street every morning would help move homeless out
Where’s the police or help of some kind
Why are they letting this happen to our beautiful city
Give us back State street open to traffic lower rents so people can open store up
It’ss gone to the dogs !!

When I see mail from my home insurance carrier, it's never good news. The latest is, they spied my outside Maytag dryer and have deemed it DETRITUS that must be removed if I want insurance. I gave some thought to going rogue without it. The fine print of doing business with any of them is, they have the right to come on your property without an appointment and are likely using drones. So, anyone need one slightly rusty, only a year old Maytag?? My indoor machines are smaller and won't do sheets very well. I guess it's the laundromat for me. Heads up! that drone is definitely checking your "compliance."

Beautiful wood burning art by young Russian artist. He custom made this design for me on a piece of driftwood and it’s gorgeous! And reasonable. Text him at 805-626-2738. Super nice boy and lovely family working hard in their new country. Thank you for supporting them.

Suggest that he apply to our/your SB Arts & Crafts Show: https://forms.santabarbaraca.gov/f/sbaacsapplication ...and...SBAACS.com for general information. I suggest that he come down to explore, tomorrow , Sunday. A super fun and important opportunity for any emerging artist. Really easy - just use the Garden Street parking lot on the Beachside to park. Make it easy on ones-self! ❤️❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼 Important Information To exhibit at the Santa Barbara Arts and Crafts show you must be a resident of Santa Barbara County and you must create all of the work yourself. All exhibitors need to obtain a seller’s permit and a City of Santa Barbara Arts & Crafts Show Permit which costs $596 per year. A $596 permit means the price to exhibit is less than $10 per show!

To Lacey, I hope you will read this! After my shopping trip to Albertsons and CVS on Calle Real this afternoon I was almost home when I discovered that I had left my purse with my whole life in it in the shopping cart!! My wallet, my cell phone, my credit cards...etc. they were all in this purse! Panic set in and as I raced back I prayed that an honest person had found my purse and had turned it in at the store. At first no such luck at Albertsons and neither at CVS. I was so distraught and did not know what to do next. However, when I walked back to my car this nice checker Barbara from Albertson came running out of the store... with my purse in her hands! Apparently a very sweet young lady by the name of Lacey had spotted it in the shopping cart and had taken it back to the store. She did not want any token of appreciation, no flowers or anything.
Lacey, my dear friend, you have no idea how much I appreciate your honesty. You are my guardian angel today and I will certainly pay this kind deed forward. This goes to show that there are still many honest and kind people in this world. Blessings on alll of them.

I currently rent my home on Airbnb, but I am trying to rent it long-term. It is a small house, 912 ft.² but with big patios and a lovely ocean view. I live in an apartment on the property. The home is two bedrooms one bath and the rent is $4500 including utilities. I will consider a pet. I am also willing to rent just the ocean view bedroom for $2700. My home is on Shelby in Summerland. Send me a message if you want more information. Thank you.

I believe there is gas in houses near ours but ours is all electric. How would I go about finding out if hooking our home up to gas is possible and how much it might cost?

Edit: we are going to need to either add another electrical panel or convert some items to gas, which we have not yet bought- mini split heat pump & tankless water heater, both of which will be outside. We could go either way with the stove- I do like our solid surface cooktop.

Gas blowers! Just shut down two neighborhood gardeners using gas powered blowers. The noise is unbelievable. One this morning and 2nd just now. They both said that they have electric blowers and got them out and used them when confronted. I guess they need to carry extra batteries to get through the day.

Hi! I don’t believe I am allowed to put my food waste in the green bin here in Montecito. I think it’s supposed to go in the black / landfill bin.

I would love to set up a compost in my yard but don’t know anything about it. I just want somewhere to put most of my food scraps so they don’t create methane down the road.

I’m happy to pay for the education. Can anybody help me with this? Or suggest a resource? Thank you! By the way, wasn’t there a recent initiative that was supposed to solve this problem and have our waste companies compost food waste? I know whoever picks up trash in Carp allows food waste in the green bins.

Thanks in advance for any insight/pointers, especially if you could make it really easy. I have two small kids and on my own, so not a lot of cycles to get a deep education in this. We are new to the area.

I have had dogs and cats my entire life, and I had NO IDEA that Sago palms are highly poisonous to dogs. Sadly, our new puppy ate a frond and died from it. We are beyond devastated. I'm sharing with everyone I can to get the word out to keep your pets away from these plants. Please tell every pet owner you know.
