Today marks the 25th anniversary of September 11th. I will never forget those moments of standing in my living room, watching with horror the planes hitting the towers. I will never forget the confusion and fear that came from it. I will never forget the the faces of fellow Americans covered in ash, running from the collapsing towers. I will never forget the brave firefighters who ran into those burning building as they collapsed to save people. I will never forget New York, the Pentagon, and United 93. I will never forget the days following the attack and how our country stood up strong and United. I will never forgot that we were proud to be Americans. Proud to protect one another.
Even in our darkest days, America will always be the land of Freedom. I pray that it never takes such a horrific act to bring us back together. “We’ve got to do a better job of getting across that America is freedom — freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of enterprise. And freedom is special and rare. It’s fragile; it needs protection.” -Ronald Reagan.
May we never forget those who died on this horrific day, the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for defending our freedoms, and may we forever be grateful and proud to be an American. 🇺🇸
