Many of you know that my husband, and I moved to Santa Fe NM 5 years ago because my parents were getting up there in their years and my mother was showing signs of dementia. I adored my mother and wanted to be with her in her final years as I knew she would have a hard road ahead of her. After many years of laughter, tears, doctors, hospital visits, care givers, etc., my mother,Patricia Ellan Marshall Sanchez, passed away on March 16th of this year. We are still in SF, now supporting my father as he is now facing difficult times. While my father taught me how to find my drive, to be strong, independent and so much about business, it was my mother that taught how to grow into the person that I am today and frankly she taught me to be the person I like today. My mom, although very she was very shy was terrifically funny! With a dry sense of humor, she would drop a bomb on us and we would be hysterical; even up to the last couple of months of her life she would make us laugh. She loved animals, particularly cats, which we always had, and would never scare deer off the property but instead let them eat the bushes my dad so vehemently protected while giggling about it. She taught me how to cook, take care of a house, entertain, be gracious and polite to others. She taught me how to love and how important it is to be a good mother by her example on how she mothered us. I love my mother and she is always with me and I don’t ever want to let her go.
