Habitat ReStore Walton County

Operating as a nonprofit under Habitat for Humanity of Walton County, proceeds from the ReStore go toward our mission of eliminating substandard housing.

We sell new and like-new building materials, construction supplies, appliances, furniture and household goods at a fraction of the cost of retail thanks to amazing community donations. ReStore provides access to lower-cost building materials and household goods to the community, fulfills our responsibility to the environment by keeping quality goods out of the landfill, and generates funds to build more Habitat houses in Walton County.

💙 Feel Good Friday! Safety & Health First! 💙

A big THANK YOU to Hannah Wells, EMS Logistics Coordinator with South Walton Fire District, for instructing our Habitat for Humanity Walton County Affiliate Office and ReStore team in CPR training this morning! 🫶🚑

We are incredibly grateful to Volunteer Florida for awarding Habitat Walton a grant that is helping us purchase an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and cover the cost of CPR certification for our crew. This support helps ensure our team is prepared to respond when it matters most.

Thank you for helping us keep our team safe so we can continue serving our community to the best of our ability! ❤️🏠

♻️THRIFTY THURSDAY: Turn Trash into Music! 🥁

We love seeing our community partners get creative with repurposing! Our friends at Westonwood Ranch recently shared this incredible DIY project using empty water bottles to create drums for a fun and interactive drum circle with their campers. 🥁💙

🎶 DIY Upcycled Drum -Give a large refillable water cooler bottle a second life as a unique percussion instrument:
🧼 Clean and dry a large refillable water bottle.
✂️ Carefully remove the label and cut off the flat bottom using a utility knife to create an open shell.
🥁 Turn the bottle upside down, with the wide opening facing up and the narrow neck resting on the floor or a stable surface.

Play & Explore:
Tap the bottle with your hands or drumsticks to discover different deep, resonant tones. Experiment with where and how you strike the bottle, or place your hands around the opening to change the sound and create different rhythmic effects.

The rhythm, repetition and vibration provide incredible sensory input while encouraging coordination, focus, self-expression and connection with others. 💙

We are incredibly grateful to Westonwood Ranch , whose campers volunteer at the Habitat ReStore twice a month, and to the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation for helping make this meaningful partnership possible.

We love seeing the creativity that comes from a great ReStore find! While visiting family in Florida this summer, Andrea Lynn Pottery stopped by Habitat ReStore and picked up tile and other materials at a great deal for her pottery workshop in Georgia.

Andrea built her own workshop, where she creates and sells beautiful handmade pottery, and she even installed the ReStore tile herself behind and underneath her pottery kiln! 🔨🎨
