When clients of mine from 6 years ago contacted me asking if I could help them thru the hurricane damage from Helene and Milton -of course I said YES! We had lots of interior damage (including the majority of all the cabinetry) and about 1/3 of the furniture was ruined as well.
For the construction aspect, I contacted Team Builders SRQ, who I’ve partners with on a few other major remodels and they did an amazing job again! For the cabinetry, I called my friend (and former boss) Michael O’Connor of O’Connor Cabinetry Designs -who does all of custom cabinetry! Thank you both so much for taking such great care of my clients (and also my friends!)

Before & After

Considering updating your bathroom or kitchen but not wanting to undertake a full-scale remodel, modifying elements such as appliances, hardware, painting cabinets, or refacing can greatly enhance the space.

For this client, who resides here only part-time and opted not to replace the countertops at this time, the paint color selection effectively minimized their visual impact.

I have maintained a long-standing partnership with Cabinet Renew, and their consistently exceptional work is truly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Are you in need of a new mattress for your home, RV or yacht? We met with Luann Schecht, the owner of Pittsburgh Mattress Factory in Ellenton today and had a new mattress made for the Invictus V yacht. She walked us through her warehouse where “the magic is done” and we met the men that make (and deliver if you are local) the new custom mattresses. What an amazing family owned business for over 46 years!

She walked us through the process for the different types of mattresses, bed pillow tops and pillows! Invictus V will be all set to go within a week!

Demo has started on the large remodel that I’m doing with Team Builders SRQ in LWRCC, and we are doing a full Design Build approach with a walk-through today of the designer, contractor and engineer on site. Today also included a FaceTime walk-through with our custom cabinetry shop before on site dimensions are confirmed for the kitchen. 

Progress photos will follow as this project has many structural aspects that need to happen prior to the finishes being specified.

Large remodel getting started with a job-site walkthru this morning with the designer (me), the contractor (Team Builders SRQ), our window supplier and installer, and the structural engineer.

We will be changing a large 3BR/4-1/2 Bath into a 5BR/6 1/2 bath, adding a Game Room into a current two-story open space, adding a golf simulator room and exercise room -and much more!!

I can’t wait to show the progress!!!

For the first time in over 10 years, I was not able to go to The Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) due to my back surgery recovery taking precedence. The show was last week in Vegas again, but will come back to Orlando for the next 2 years so hopefully I can make it next year. In the meantime- HOUZZ always does a great job of wrapping up the top new products seen at the show, including shower features, countertop looks, faucets, appliances and more.

I was presented with a different type of window treatment design, and install. A family member of an existing client of mine called to say that her SIL had a large house that was being sold without the window treatments (they are very traditional in design, but were over $250,000 when initially installed and most of them silk).

She wanted them to be remade to fit in her house here, which is harder to do than starting from
Scratch - for everyone involved) We took the pictures from the MLS- notated which drapes go in what room, measured the treatments, the windows here, shot videos of how to remake them (esp for the bedrooms that haven’t been done yet), and for a few areas, the silk had begun to fall apart- our initial ideas had to be rethought out. The very traditional swags had to be taken up and redone to fit new window sizes, yet we were lucky enough to have one treatment be just a bit too large for the Study so we used it as is and I think it turned out great(with the scalloped cornice). Delays due to several things have occurred throughout the project but we were finally able to install a few of the rooms last week!

We are only about halfway through with this project, but wanted to thank Cindy Whitesell for starting out with helping me with the measurements, making the cornices, my work room, L3 and Roger Metz for doing such a wonderful job on all my installs!

What an amazing house designed by the amazing Architect Guy Peterson, who was involved in the total remodel as well! Kudos to all involved! The poster collection looks outstanding!

Beloved by two art aficionados, this is a modernist marvel of a home on Siesta Key.
