🎉 Friday Finished Objects! 🎉

This week we’re celebrating a trio of beautiful finishes! 🧶✨

Jodi, Peggy, and Ilene all completed the gorgeous Cumulus Tee by PetiteKnit, proving once again that the same pattern can look completely different depending on the yarn and color choices.

🌿 Jodi knit hers in Sandnes Garn Line in White, held together with Make It Tweed #001 (Multicolor), creating a light, airy fabric with just the perfect touch of colorful sparkle.

🌊 Peggy chose Sandnes Garn Line in Navy, paired with Make It Tweed #002 (Rainbow Glitz) for a rich, sophisticated look with a hint of shimmer.

☁️ Ilene worked hers in Sandnes Garn Line in Morning Mist, also held with Make It Tweed #002 (Classic), resulting in a soft, elegant tee that’s perfect for warm Florida days.

We love seeing how each knitter brings their own personality to a project, even when they’re knitting the same pattern. Three knitters, three beautiful tees, and three unique interpretations of a modern classic! 💙🤍✨

🧶✨ Thursday Night Knit & Crochet Night ✨🧶

Join us this evening from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at A Good Yarn Sarasota for one of our favorite weekly traditions—Knit & Crochet Night!

Pull up a chair, bring your current project, and spend the evening surrounded by friends who understand that “just one more row” is never really just one more row. 😊 Whether you’re knitting, crocheting, or simply looking for some crafty company, there’s always a place for you at our table.

Our Knit & Crochet Nights are always free to attend and open to everyone. Whether you’re a longtime regular, brand new to the fiber arts, or just looking for a welcoming community to spend an evening with, we’d love to have you join us. The best part of our Thursday nights isn’t just the projects—it’s the friendships, laughter, encouragement, and inspiration shared around the table.

This week is a little bittersweet as we get ready to say “see you later” to our dear snowbird friend Kathleen, who will be heading back north after spending another wonderful season stitching, laughing, and sharing her creativity with us. Tomorrow night will be her last Knit & Crochet Night until she returns in the fall, so come help us send her off with plenty of hugs, good wishes, and yarn-filled memories.

We’ll also have some light snacks to enjoy while we stitch, visit, and celebrate another wonderful season with Kathleen.

✨ Friday Finished Objects ✨

We’ve got some seriously beautiful finishes to celebrate this week at A Good Yarn Sarasota! 🧶💖

First up, Joy finished the gorgeous SlublimeTee by Laura Dobratz, and it is absolutely stunning! She used Slubby Slub in the color Hammered, and the texture and drape are just chef’s kiss perfection. ✨

And then there’s Miss Kathleen… our resident overachiever 😂👏 who casually finished not one, but TWO incredible projects!

Her first finish is the Rocket Tee by Tanis Fiber Arts, knit in Miss Babs Estrellita, a discontinued color from her stash, held together with Emma’s Yarn Marvelous Mohair in Navy Blazer. Talk about dreamy texture and depth — this combo is pure elegance. 💙

But she didn’t stop there!

Kathleen also finished the Lite Bright sweater by Wool & Pine, and WOW is this one a showstopper! She used Emma’s Yarn So Sporty in Weathervane along with Make Dat Monet, Very Berry, plus Miss Babs Yowza in Golden Anniversary and Deep Jellyfish. The colors are playful, vibrant, and completely joyful — basically happiness in sweater form. 🌈✨

We are constantly amazed by the talent, creativity, and speed of our yarn family. Stop by the shop to admire these beauties in person and get inspired for your next cast on… because clearly one project at a time is just a suggestion around here 😅🧶

Guess who’s back?!

Peggy has officially returned from vacation and is back in the shop—rested, refreshed, and excited to be working with yarn again.

The yarn shelves missed her, the knitting needles missed her, and we certainly missed her as well. Please stop by to say hello, share your latest projects, and help us welcome her back to the warm and creative atmosphere at A Good Yarn.

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve had to say “see you later” to two of our beloved snowbirds, Kathy and Vicky, as they head back north for the season. 🧶❤️

These wonderful ladies have brought so much joy, laughter, kindness, and creativity into the shop while spending their winters with us. From helping customers find the perfect yarn to sharing stories and stitching inspiration around the table, they’ve become such a special part of our A Good Yarn family.

The shop already feels a little quieter without them, and we miss them more than they know. We’re so grateful for the time we get to spend together each season, and we’ll be counting down the days until they return in the fall.

Safe travels, Kathy and Vicky — we love you both dearly and can’t wait to have you back at the shop! 💕

Did you know the music video for The Beach Boys’ hit song “Kokomo” was filmed at The Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World? The tropical vibes at the then-new resort were just right for The Beach Boys, and they are just right for this year's Smalliday Set!

was inspired to create a set of day-at-the-beach, islandy colorways to bring some sunshine into the winter season, so it’s only fitting that the color theme for this year’s Smalliday Set is “WAY DOWN IN KOKOMO”.

Available in three different bases: Practically Perfect Sock, Simply Spectacular DK, and a new base just for this set: Seashell Sparkle Sock. It’s very similar to the Practically Perfect Sock base, but has a little sparkle throughout.
