Labor Day Weekend is coming up this weekend with the Cow Chip Tournamet, Parade and arts and crafts vendors in Prairie du Sac. If you leave but want more, take a drive down Water Street. The Riverwalk Shops on Water Street are open and offering an Autumn Art Walk with great art, crafts, and food. The Riverwalk Shops invite you to travel down Water Street to Sauk City for so much more, especially at BACK ROOM GALLERY, GALLOWAY GALLERY, IVOD CREATIVE AND SERENITY ART GALLERY. Shops open September 4th and 5th from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

The Flamingos are starting to come out in front of the 19 Water Street businesses participating in the Let's Flamingo event on Saturday, August 15th from 10am-2pm. Look for tremendous discounts, prizes to be won and the big raffle at the end of the day. Back Room Gallery is offering a whopping 20% off in the gallery IF YOU WEAR SOMETHING PINK. So wear a PINK shirt, slacks, scarf, hanky, tie, belt etc. and take 20% off your purchase all day long. Come back as many times on the 15th as you like for 20% off.

Everyone is invited to Riverwalk Shops first community Smores Event. This is FREE to everyone who wants to come down and have fun for a pre-FIre On the River party. There are so many varieties of Smores you can make and even healthy Smores for your furry friends will be available. We provide all the Smores ingredients and you bring your favorite Pours. This will be so much fun. Sponsored by the Riverwalk Shops of Water Street. So COME ON DOWN TO RIVERFRONT PARK and meet your Water Street businesses. Follow the signs and pick up your graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows plus other speciality Smore ingredients. Then VOTE on your favorite Smore concoction.

Back Room Gallery has sewn crafts that the whole family needs and would love to have. Aprons are back in style and great for a gift to that someone special! Looks at these beautiful and useful aprons by Elaine Shaw. Each one is artistically embroidered for that special craft you have: grilling, cooking, gardening, hair styling and just for the love of coffee. So, come in and support your local crafters and artists.

BACK ROOM GALLERY WILL BE CLOSED THROUGH THE WEEKEND. REOPEN NEXT WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10TH. I hope!! A big water line break was found last night right in front of our gallery. The Gallery basement is flooded. Polk Street at the corner of Polk and Water is completely broken up for a water line replacement. Thank God it was found on the Village's side. Not our nickel, but we will be replacing a water line to the building while they have it opened up. So, I have men with muddy boots coming in and out of the gallery to the basement. It is a muddy mess. I will have to shampoo the carpet through the gallery when they get done. Hope that red clay comes out. Thank God it's not raining....yet!

New Hours at Back Room Gallery starts today, May 1st. New Hours:
W-F 11am-4pm and Saturday 10am-3pm. Saturday, May 2nd is a Special Event supporting the Sauk City and Prairie du Sac Volunteer Fire Departments. Called a COFFEE, COCOA & COOKIE CANTER!
So, stop in tomorrow and grab a cookie and a cup of coffee. At 2:30pm watch the fire depts. Tug of War in the Riverfront Park! Should be fun to watch.

Want to do something really FUN? Go on the 2026 SPRING ART TOUR scheduled for May 15-16-17. Drive from artist to artist and watch the artist work on their special talent. Communities include: Mazomanie, Arena, Blue Mounds, Black Earth, New Glarus, Argyle, Blanchardville, Belleville, Mt. Horeb and right here in Prairie du Sac. Our own Gallery artist, Luci Shirek is on the tour of artists in Black Earth.

Paula Pulvermacher and Tierra Jackson have brought in new artwork. Paula's "Sauk City Hwy 12 Bridge" is fantastic and Tierra's "St. Jude" is so inspiring. So, time to come in and see what's new on the shelves and walls. Tomorrow, Saturday, April 25th is Riverwalk Shops "April Showers Shop Hop". So, come down Water Street, tomorrow and peek into all the shops along Water Street.

Hours: today til 5pm and Saturday: 11am-3pm.
