There’s nothing particularly secondary about this pantry at our Winter Retreat. We carried the same warmth and materiality you’d expect in the kitchen into this smaller space, with oak cabinetry and creamy stone giving it a presence of its own.

I love the conversation between the fireplace and sculptural pendant here. The architecture at Heritage Classic has a distinctly traditional rhythm and strong symmetry, while the fixture introduces something sharper and more unexpected—breaking up that formality just enough. That tension gives the room a more modern point of view.

How do you make a room with this much volume still feel intimate?

For us, it came down to the furnishings. The substantial dining table and high-backed chairs create a strong sense of place within the larger room, while warm rust tones and rich wood bring softness to the surrounding stone architecture. The sculptural pendant helps define the dining area from above.

The room remains expansive, but the furnishings create a more intimate place to gather within it.

At Fleur de Mer, outdoor living is paramount to island life. This open-air pavilion creates much-needed shade from the Caribbean sun while remaining completely connected to the surrounding landscape—a perfect respite for lounging by the pool, relaxing, and taking in the dense tropical greenery.

One of the things I love most about Gilded Classic is how much personality lives in the details.

For the bar and dining area, we worked with de Gournay to create a custom, hand-painted wallcovering inspired by Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle. The playful scenes add whimsy and wit to all of the dark wood and rich color tones in the room.

I love when something this decorative can still feel completely integral to the space.

We’ve been brought on to reimagine a classic Rancho Mirage home, and right now it’s stripped back to its bones.

One of the details I love most is the repetition of the oculus—appearing as a skylight within the interior and again as a cutout in the roofline, allowing the existing palms to pass through the architecture. It creates this wonderful dialogue between the house, the desert light and the landscape.

Still early, but there’s something exciting about seeing a house this open and imagining where it can go.

A small departure from the usual bathroom setup. At Seaside Zen, the vanity was designed around the windows instead of a wall of mirrors, letting natural light take more of a role in the room.

The café curtains give our client the privacy they need without losing that warm, filtered light, which feels especially right first thing in the morning.

Blast from the past — my former Palm Springs home, Desert Reviere. I loved how the soft, curved shapes of the furniture played against the rectilinear architecture of the house. The palette took its cues from the desert, with warm rust and blush tones reminiscent of the colors of sunrise and sunset. Still one of my favorite little seating moments.

In this corner of Classic Luxe, the graphic artwork, texture wallcovering, and brass detailing create their own composition within the kitchen. It’s a small moment, but one that gives the room another layer to discover.

One of the things I love most about Tidal Harmony is the relationship between the living room and kitchen. They’re distinct spaces, but the warm wood tones, soft neutrals, and darker accents create a natural dialogue between the two.

Designing with a neutral palette can be surprisingly challenging. Without contrast and texture, rooms can easily fall flat. By layering materials, introducing darker moments, and embracing variation in tone, we’re able to create definition and depth while maintaining a calm, cohesive aesthetic.

The result is a home that feels warm, connected, and anything but boring.
