“What I love most is helping clients move from feeling overwhelmed and uncertain (at the start of the project) to feeling excited and confident. It’s incredibly rewarding to guide them through the process, bring their story to life, and watch the experience become something they truly enjoy. Seeing their dream take shape and knowing we created it together is the best part of what I do.”

Jen, Interior Designer

Getting this kind of feedback from a client is everything.

"I can not say enough wonderful things about Kristen and Jen!! I was extremely worried about our new build and how I was going to make all the decisions needed to make sure it looked nice. They listened to what I wanted and designed everything better than I could have ever dreamed! They made the whole process fun and easy!" ~Nancy S.

Making the interior design process fun and easy is EXACTLY our goal (along with building beautiful spaces, of course)!

Thank you for sharing your experience, Nancy — it was a delight to work with you!

Now THIS is the kind of feedback that makes us do a happy dance. 💃

Helping our clients find a design aesthetic that truly reflects who they are and what they want from their home is what we love most about our work. Design is not about hard-and-fast rules: it's about creating a space that makes a house feel like a home — and that's made for the people who live there.

Amazing work as always, Jen!

Ruby+Suede Interior Designers, Kristen Schammel and Shelby Garris, did a beautiful job of incorporating traditional materials with modern design elements in our Parade of Homes featured home.

Here are a few highlights:

▪️The use of natural walnut cabinetry throughout helps ground the space and offer a timeless appeal.
▪️Mixed metal finishes in plumbing and light fixtures offer a curated feel while still being cohesive.
▪️Natural flooring materials (red oak hardwood, wool carpet, concrete basement floors) lend to the timeless appeal of the home.
▪️Incorporating custom countertop details (backsplashes, edge profiles) add charm to the overall feeling of the home.

Your dream home doesn't have to be a different home.

Sometimes the dream is finding room for one more family dinner around the island. A sun-filled office where work feels a little lighter. Built-in storage that makes everyday life easier. Space that grows alongside your family while still feeling like the house you fell in love with years ago.

That's exactly what this 1930 Tudor became. We're excited to share the transformation with you in our latest blog post: https://na2.hubs.ly/H07_0rq0

It's a good day as an interior designer when you get to incorporate a few BOLD elements into a home's design!

In our Parade of Homes featured home, Senior Interior Designer Kristen Schammel shares,

"Bold elements like the tile selections in the mudroom or primary bath shower add personality, while the color drenched office paired with a plaid carpet elevate the space through the use of color and texture."

Project highlight: El Dorado Drive

With clean lines, a calming color palette, and luxurious textures, this design blends perfectly into the home's natural surroundings, highlighted through huge, numerous windows. It's modern chic meets hunting cabin ... in the best way.
