This bathroom needed more room to breathe.

To give this Tybee beach house the calm, spa-like feeling we wanted throughout the home, we expanded the downstairs bathroom in both directions, giving us room for a dual vanity, walk-in shower, private water closet, and something we’ll always make room for. Storage.

Shelving behind the door keeps towels and laundry hampers tucked away, allowing the room to stay clean and uncluttered without sacrificing function.

The result is a bathroom that does a lot, but doesn’t feel like it. And for us, that’s what serenity in a space is all about.

The coffee table usually gets all the credit, but the layout is doing the heavy lifting. And we’re saying that as the people who’ve sourced reclaimed vintage coffee tables and designed custom ones from scratch.

A beautiful living room isn’t just about the furniture or the finishes. It’s about how the space works. How p eople move through it, where conversations naturally unfold, how the light fills the room, and creating a place that’s just as comfortable for a quiet morning as it is for a house full of guests.

After all, life happens here. It’s in the name.

A few months ago, we shared that we were collaborating with Hogan Design Group on three spec homes at Lake Toxaway, North Carolina. Today, we’re excited to share that the first home has officially been listed.

The vision for this home was to create a true mountain escape. One that feels deeply connected to its surroundings through natural materials, warm textures, and light-filled spaces that invite the landscape inside. A place for unplugging and connecting with the outdoors.

So many hours of hard work have been put into this home, and we can’t wait for someone to enjoy it and make it their own.

Transforming this Tybee beach house kitchen was all about taking what already existed and making it work better for this family.

Smack dab in the middle of the kitchen was a staircase and railing leading down to the basement level. Since the family didn’t need interior access to the lower level, we were able to close off the stairs and gain valuable space within the kitchen.
We also removed the existing U-shaped island and replaced it with a long, rectangular island topped with Taj Mahal quartzite, creating a layout that better suited the space and the way the family uses it.

To make the kitchen feel more open and connected to the rest of the home, we removed the upper cabinetry and replaced it with open shelving. And because more open space shouldn’t mean less storage, we added plenty of additional storage within the island.

The result is a kitchen that feels more open, more functional, and much better suited to the way this family lives.

The kitchen is where so much of life takes place.

It’s where mornings begin, meals are shared, homework gets done, and friends inevitably gather. That’s why we believe a well-designed kitchen should be as functional as it is beautiful. Thoughtfully designed to support the way you actually live.

Here are a few of our favorite kitchens we’ve had the privilege of designing. Each one is different, but they all share the same goal: creating spaces that feel inviting and unique, and are made to be lived in.

Which one is your favorite?

Serene is the top note. Beach is the undertone.

For this Tybee beach house, we wanted to create a second home that immediately felt like an escape for a family of four. Calm, airy, and distinctly coastal without relying on the usual beach-house cues.

We layered light neutrals with woven and rattan textures to bring warmth and softness throughout the home. In the kitchen, a farmhouse sink and open shelving add character, while hidden storage throughout the kitchen and living room keeps everyday family life tucked neatly away.

That sense of calm carries into every corner. Clean lines, natural materials, soft colors, and spa-like details create spaces that feel uncluttered but never impractical. And the downstairs bathroom? That’s where we really leaned into the spa.

A beach house that whispers Tybee rather than shouting it, and gives this family a place to truly unwind.

Your bedroom should be the easiest place to unwind.

It’s one of the few spaces in your home designed with one purpose in mind: rest. When we design bedrooms, we focus on creating environments that feel calm, comfortable, and restorative through thoughtful layouts, layered lighting, natural materials, and soft textures.

But no two bedrooms should ever feel the same. Like every project we take on, each space is designed around the people who live there. The colors, textures, wallpaper, and finishes are carefully chosen to reflect our clients. Their lifestyle, their personality, and how they want to feel when they walk into the room.

The result isn’t just a beautiful bedroom. It’s a space that feels deeply personal. A place to slow down, recharge, and truly feel at home.

We don’t believe in choosing furniture and vendors from a catalog. We source with intention.

Erika & Joel traveled to Copenhagen to visit the showrooms of two of our favorite partners, HOUE and Ferm Living because we believe the best recommendations come from firsthand experience. Walking through their collections, learning about their craftsmanship, and seeing how each piece is made and meant to be styled gives us the confidence to thoughtfully recommend them to our clients.

Whether we’re specifying furniture for a renovation or curating pieces for the shop floor, we go beyond beautiful photography. We take the time to truly know the brands we stand behind, so every recommendation is backed by experience, quality, and intention.

It’s just one of the ways we ensure every piece we bring into your home is one we’d choose for our own. And who doesn’t love a trip to Copenhagen?

A project is never really finished.

One of the greatest compliments we can receive is when a client calls us years later, not because something is wrong, but because they trust us to help their home continue to evolve.

We first renovated this Tybee beach house in 2017, creating a calming retreat for this family. Since then, we’ve stayed in touch, and recently they invited us back to refresh the artwork throughout the home. Together, we reimagined a few walls, thoughtfully placing each piece in a way that felt true to the spaces we designed years ago.

Whether it’s new art, additional furniture, or refreshing a room that no longer fits your life, we’re always happy to come back and help your home grow with you.

The best design relationships don’t end on installation day.

Ready for your home’s next chapter? We’d love to help.
