I picked up an antique, non-mechanical, cast-iron bank that appears to be from between 1890 and 1920. It seems to have some value but I am having difficulty finding where I am allowed to list it. Research indicates a market value in the neighborhood of $925.

It depicts a black woman with an apron and a head scarf in the tradition of “Gone With The Wind”. I am sure some people might take offense as a biased caricature. I have no intent to offend anyone and I won’t post a picture so this post won’t be removed.

Thu, Oct 30th thru Sun, Nov 2nd, discounts will be a minimum 10% on everything in the store. Clothes, tools, household items, glassware, etc. Items inside the store and loaded on trailers or tables outside.

Each year, Social Security announces an COLA increase in October that takes effect January 1st.

This year’s COLA is 2.8%.

I thought inflation was going to trend higher than that so I am surprised it was not more.

But now you have some info to plan around.
