The best flooring installers don't just install floors—they build trust, one project at a time.

Meet Rob Alexson, Senior Floor Installer at Marcella's Floor Covering.

Rob joined the Marcella's team in 2001, bringing with him eight years of flooring installation experience and a passion for doing the job right. More than two decades later, he's become one of the most respected installers on our team, known for his precision, professionalism, and attention to detail.

From residential homes to large commercial projects, Rob has mastered the installation of:

✔ Carpet
✔ Hardwood Flooring
✔ Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)
✔ Linoleum
✔ Laminate Flooring

Commercial clients especially appreciate Rob's ability to tackle challenging installations with confidence and craftsmanship. His commitment to quality has earned him countless 5-star reviews and the trust of many of our long-time commercial customers.

But Rob's story with Marcella's goes back even further.

He's known Jim Marcella since he was just 12 years old and proudly considers Jim an adopted uncle. That connection reflects what Marcella's has always been about—building lasting relationships, treating people like family, and taking pride in every project.

Thank you, Rob, for more than 25 years of craftsmanship, dedication, and representing the values that have defined Marcella's Floor Covering for generations.

From a young immigrant learning the trade… to one of the region’s most trusted flooring experts.

Meet Adam - Lead Estimator/Commercial Installer

In 1995, Adam emigrated from Poland to America as a young boy and began working part-time with a flooring installation company learning the craft from the ground up.

During one particularly challenging flooring installation for Marcella’s Flooring, Jim Marcella noticed something special.

The project required advanced techniques, precision, and problem-solving and Adam stood out immediately.

Recognizing his skill, dedication, and work ethic, Jim offered Adam a full-time position at Marcella’s Flooring in 1998.

The rest is history.

Over the last 27 years, Adam has attended specialized installation seminars, mastered complex flooring systems, and established himself as one of the most experienced flooring professionals in the region.

Today, Adam continues to lead complex commercial estimates and project management — helping bring high-level craftsmanship to every job.

His latest project? Preparing to install a variety of flooring systems for the brand-new Hana Restaurant in Latham, NY.

At Marcella’s, experience matters. And stories like Adam’s are part of what makes our team special.

Thank you, Adam, for 27 years of dedication, craftsmanship, and excellence. 👏🏡

Every great company has a story.

For Marcella’s Flooring Center, that story begins with James “Jim” Marcella.

In April of 1969, Jim opened Marcella’s Flooring Center after spending years learning the value of hard work in his family’s appliance business. From day one, he built the company around a simple idea: offer the finest flooring products, hire the best people, and treat customers the right way.

A proud Siena College business graduate, Jim built Marcella’s to stand the test of time. Growing through changing markets, economic ups and downs, and nearly six decades of serving families and businesses throughout the Capital Region.

But what Jim is most proud of isn’t just the longevity. It’s the relationships.

Customers who first walked through the doors decades ago still return today, often bringing their children, grandchildren, friends, and neighbors with them. Many of Marcella’s trusted team members have been with the company for 30+ years, helping continue the same commitment to quality, honesty, and craftsmanship that Jim started in 1969.

Because to Jim, flooring was never just about selling products.

It was about making sure every customer was completely satisfied and standing behind the work long after the installation was done.

Thank you for trusting Marcella’s for nearly 60 years. Here’s to continuing the tradition.
