🎇Happy New Year Friends🎇

I’m enjoying a quiet start to the day with some coffee & cookies.

I’m working a new sweater using yarn from on the Marybelle base which is a non superwash base and I have to say I love it! The yarn has a great stitch definition for the cables I’m knitting and I can’t wait to show you more soon.

I’ve gathered all 307 grams of my DK scraps and I’m going to knit to most ransom socks ever as I participate in the .
The only rule I’m imposing is that I can’t knit more than 6-8 rows of one color so there is some sort of cohesive element between all the socks.
Wish me luck, this is going to be pretty wild & random for me.

The second pair of advent socks were also knit using yarn from , this colorway is Buddy the Elf.

I followed the Thursday Sock pattern by .knits and it’s my favorite toe up sock pattern because it is written for gusset & heel flap which I prefer over any other heel.

I’ve been enjoying every minute of this much needed long weekend. One project that I have been able to finish was spinning this skein of yarn from Little Barn Inc. The fiber has been in my stash for close to 4 years and it was just what I needed to clear my mind and refocus on my making.

If my math is right the skein is about 350 yards and 104 grams. I’m considering it to be a fi*****ng weight skein. I have no idea what this skein will become, for now I’m going to admire my work and pretend I didn’t add another skein of yarn to my stash.

My most recent finished pair of socks were knit using the Something Wicked This Way Comes kit dyed by .

The Wizard of Oz & Wicked hold a very special place in my heart so when I saw the kits I wasn’t able to resist them.

Elphaba the Wicked was the first set that I used and I love how well these colors work together. This pair of socks was knit on US 0, 9” circular needles, 60 stitches.

Today Samantha Guerin released a new pattern and I’m here to say it’s amazing. I was able to test knit this pattern and am thrilled with the finished cowl.

This pattern is perfect for that special skein of handspun yarn that you’ve been saving for the “right” project. Or dig into your mini skeins and create a colorful scrappy version, really the possibilities are endless!

For my project I used one skein of and a skein of handspun yarn, the fiber came from and was spun back in 2021.

If you’re looking for a gift knit this might be the project you need. The pattern is very easy to memorize and the stitch pattern makes this look more complicated than it is.

I hit a knitting slump this past week and the best way for me to refocus myself is to spend some time with my spinning wheel.

I had a four once bat of fiber from Little Barn Inc that I purchased years ago. It’s 100% wool and is spinning up like a dream. I am spinning the whole bat as one single and then plan on chain plying it. I have no idea what the finished skein will become, right now I’m enjoying the spinning process.

Another Musselburg hat made its way onto my knitting needles! This is another scrappy version, but much more of a similar color pallet. I have a few larger scraps in my stash that are all in the caramel/brown family so I’m hoping to use them all up and have another hat finished this week.

It’s amazing to see this project finished ! I stopped working on my during the summer months, it was too warm and too large of a project for me to work on. But these past few weeks it’s all I’ve wanted to work on. Reaching the halfway point where each row is shorter was the motivation I needed to finish the blanket and now it’s done !!
Thank you to all my friends who have swapped minis with me over the past year, this wouldn’t be a finished project if it wasn’t for your support.

New pair of socks fresh off the knitting needles thanks to a little time spent at the doctor’s office today.

Sadly there won’t be a podcast until Sunday at the earliest. I have a virus that is caused my vocal cords to become very inflamed and my doctor said I’m on vocal rest for at least 24 hours. Thankfully my family took that news really well and doesn’t seem to mind the silent treatment.🤔

Anyhow, as soon as I’m able to record I’ll have a jam packed episode which will include these socks. The yarn is dyed by in the colorway Rainbows Run the World. I knit these using US 0, 9” circular needles and 64 stitches for the count.
