Design P**n: Artist Edition
Designing for an artist is… different.
There’s no coasting on “pretty.” Every line, proportion, and decision has to hold its weight.
For —an incredibly talented local artist and friend—this kitchen needed to feel intentional from every angle, especially within the open concept of her home.
The challenge?
Matching existing cabinetry from her living room… installed over a decade ago and no longer in production.
And a structural beam sitting exactly where the hood wanted to be.
So we leaned in.
A two-tone wood story with mixed cabinetry styles creates depth and balance.
A custom hood, finished in Venetian plaster, seamlessly wraps the beam—turning a constraint into a feature.
Color drenching, mixed metals, and sculptural lighting soften the architecture and bring movement to the space.
We layered in appliance garages, open shelving, and nearly doubled the storage—without sacrificing the aesthetic.
And then… the moment.
Platinum Blue brushed quartzite from Brazil—commanding the island like a true work of art.
Because in this home, it had to be more than a kitchen. It had to a work of art.
