Griz Originals Love giving reclaimed wood a 2nd chance, constructing original, functional and beautiful creations. The results however are by and far worth the extra labor.

I credit my Pop, my grandpa, and the good Lord for any skills that I may have. I can remember, my grandpa and dad creating, fixing, building, re-building, inventing, re-inventing things. I remember my dad building my mom furniture from wooden pallets that he had saved/collected from where he worked. I guess he was a pioneer in ‘pallet art’ and didn’t even know it! In 2017 I stumbled across a wood

en chair on Pinterest I thought would be fun to try and build. After collecting scrap wood from the neighbor's back yard (yes, I had their permission); I built my interpretation of that chair. It wasn't long after this that this hobby kind of exploded into what it is today. I truly love and appreciate the challenge and rewards that re-claimed wood provides. I have learned that re-claimed lumber is fickle material and I am humbled by it's stubbornness. There is a fair amount of work involved in cleaning and prepping the wood, before I can even begin a project. Thanks for taking the time in stopping by and taking a look at my page. Please stop by from time to time and see what’s going on. If anything catches your eye, please inquire, I am always looking for great forever homes for my projects! The next time you come across some scrap wood that someone’s throwing out, give them my number. Take care! Griz

The latest project... Refinishing this armoire from a dark walnut to a cherry finish. It does have the small drawers, I just took this picture after I had removed them. Stay tuned!

Been doing a lot of sanding lately. Details to come! :) In the mean time, this is what's in Griz's ear while I am sanding. 😊 What books are you reading/listening to? Share them with me in the comments below. 👇🏼

“When we dislike someone, or feel threatened by someone, the natural tendency is to focus on something we dislike about the person, something that irritates us. Unfortunately, when we do this--instead of seeing the deeper beauty of the person and giving them energy--we take energy away and actually do them harm. All they know is that they suddenly feel less beautiful and less confident, and it is because we sapped their energy.”
― James Redfield, The Celestine Prophecy

Well here we are. At the end of another project. What do y'all think? It's hard to see the color of the paint from the pictures. It's amazing with the softness of the natural oak and Odie's Oil.
And the hardware is perfect. Drop your thoughts in the comments. ⬇️
Thanks for hanging out! Check back often! And if you or someone you know needs a dresser, this one is FOR SALE!

Things are getting sorta done. Moved it to the basement because it's easier to control the temperature for applying the finish.
In case you're interested; I'm using in Wellington green. The stuff clings like no other and is so easy to apply. And there are so many colors to choose from! For the drawers I'm using my favorite trusty .
I apologize for the poor lighting, which doesn't do the colors justice. We will all just have to wait to see it in sunlight. 😊 What do you all think I should do for hardware? 🤔 Stick around and see the finished product. Thanks for checking in on me!
