We are the Char-Cole Grillers, a Competition BBQ/Steak Team. We are located in Burnsville, NC and was established in 2019.

Back home from our first BBQ competition of 2026! And boy was it a big one! Biggest one we’ve cooked! This was our 1st year at Smoke on the Shores BBQ Championship, and definitely won’t be the last! Weather was fantastic, and an excellent ran event! At the end of the weekend, although we didn’t get finishes we had hoped for, I’m definitely not mad at how we ended up considering we haven’t cooked in 5 months and this was the largest team count we’ve competed against. Some of the best teams in the nation! So here’s how we stacked against 55 teams this past weekend:

14th Pork
62nd Dessert (88teams)

Finally back home from a great weekend competing in our first KCBS event In Alabama! The Scottsboro BBQ Festival is one of the best ran competitions we have done to date! Amazing location and promoter made sure we had all we needed. Also we had late turn-ins, which we enjoyed because it gave us time to explore the town’s festivities, with vendors, a car show and great food! Can’t wait to come back next year! Now the results: It was a 2 meat contest, and this is how we finished:

12th place Chicken (too spicy)
6th place Prairie Fresh Ribs
11th place Overall ( 30 teams)

Congrats to our friends Puddleduck BBQ for GC, and Rollin Smoke BBQ for RGC! Congrats to everyone else that heard there name called!
