We had one of our long time designers call with a fire to put out. She had a project with a deadline in a few days with her clients coming in. Coco Franklin with Feathers Interiors had another artisan scheduled to do the project ( yeah I know, but come on , we can’t do every project)…but this person jumped ship at the last moment…
And so now we have a situation where I have to try and juggle the other projects that we already have penciled in for the following week . And hope that the product ships in time. Coco wanted to do a liquid metallic finish on the powder room mirror surround…, But what happens 90% or more of the time… As soon as we started doing the finish , she asked how soon could we get back to do the ceilings and the window sills as well? Well, if we’re on a job and there’s any way in heck, that we can get it done and not have to worry about finding time to get back, well, if there’s any way possible, we’re going to do it… I guess that’s why I’ve had only one day off in five weeks…. so I guess the lesson is… Don’t call that guy back… And it’s not just that a person can show you a sample, or a photograph of the work that they supposedly can do… It’s will they show up and will they stay and see the project through to the end… We’re on track to do over 600 projects this year and we’re just a company of six people. If I say it’s gonna be done, you can rest Rest Assured , unless I end up being in the hospital and all of my crew have been kidnapped, it shall be finished …We have never not completed a project by a scheduled deadline.
