Final project of the year completed. Goodbye 90s! The client wanted a more functional, updated, and open kitchen. The soffit removal was the biggest change, as well as rearranging the corner ovens. Dropping the countertop to one level created more usable workspace. The cooktop is induction with a custom hood above.

I have been wanting to try the wood slat panels on a project. These panels from look great thanks to installation. This is going to be the feature wall of the main bedroom. We are installing more in the living room. Looking good!

In addition to the remodeling the kitchen and the main bathroom in this Desert Ridge home, we updated the stairs, the fireplace, and flooring.

Removing the hearth from the fireplace was not so easy. The framing of the hearth wasn't just in front. It was also supporting the firebox. We had to completely re-frame the firebox support.

Oh, those stairs that lead to nowhere! Now it's updated and much more inviting.

Major bathroom update in Desert Ridge. What was it with the arch ways in the 1990's? The homeowners did not use the tub, and they wanted a large shower. With the tub removed, a large walk-in shower was created. On the opposite wall, a double vanity with lots of storage. Hats off to the tile guy for cutting a single piece of tile around the window, no seams! The shower control is Anthem, by Kohler. No more bulky shower handles. The temperature can be set to be the same all time. Just push the control button for the handheld shower, or the overhead shower, or both! A big roomy niche for lots of shower stuff. The old shower used to be all the way down the hall. Now it's an extra closet. Who doesn't need more closet space?
