I love it when a designer comes into our store. It just makes me feel like our store sparkles a little more!

Last week, Salena Baca, a crochet designer out of Bend, Oregon popped in and left a few of her crochet books. Unfortunately, I wasn't in the store. Mark had the pleasure of meeting Selena and promptly brought her books home for me to review.

Salena's mission is to leave crochet in a better state than she/we found it.

I'm currently crocheting the cute top on the cover with a lovely silk and bamboo yarn I've had in my stash for a number of years. I'm finding her patterns well written and easy to follow. Her style is so delightful.

So we getting to the point where we need to find new homes for some things from our old store in Waldport. We have until the end of the month to find homes.

I thought I'd put this here for any of our regulars that knew what was in the store to see if you are interested. The photos are a little rough but as we clean up more in the next week I'll redo photos and put on the marketplace.

Two main items for sale are the spinning wheel and a brother industrial serger.

Everything else is by donation.

All photos are listed with what is available in each photo.

Malabrigo restock!

So exited about Malabrigo's new yarn base, Normal. This fractal spin, sport weight yarn comes in 50 gram / 160 yard skeins. Malabrigo included two different patterns that are free to you, our customers.

Also new to our inventory, is Malabrigo's Worsted. This worsted weight single ply is a lovely non-superwash merino that come in 100 gram / 210 yards skeins. According to Malabrigo's website, this delicious yarn is great for felting projects as well as squishy sweaters and hats.

In addition to yarn, I also brought in a few books published by Malabrigo.

While I wish I could order all the yarn bases and their colorways to have on hand in the store, I can special order any of Malabrigo's yarns. Just message me yarn bases and colorways you need for your projects. Malabrigo typically takes about two weeks to arrive once the order is placed.

I have finally figured out a process for making hardwood drop spindles. More fun designs to come.

Need buttons of an exacting size?

I finally my display finished up and labeled and ready to sell at our store in Seal Rock.

3 different types of woods. Myrtle wood, Black Walnut and Cherry. (special requests available)

9 different sizes from 1/2"/.50" up to 7/8"/.90". And I still have all my other buttons up to about 2".

Randi and I have been working hard on a few new things for the store.

1st item is a pin cushion.

A collaboration between us. I made the wood base and she made the felted wool top. These are available for sale now in store.

2nd item is a drop spindle.

I am finally making a fancier model made from hard woods. This first run are about 16-17 grams in weight. Randi has been having fun with hers so far. I plan on making larger sizes and some without designs. And if you want a custom design or weight just let me know.

3rd is some crafting glue.

E6000 and B-7000 glues for crafters. We are always trying to find something to add to the crafting selection.
