“The house shelters daydreaming, the house protects the dreamer” -Gaston Bachelard.

At Hoedemaker Pfeiffer, we design spaces that deepen experience and quietly shape the way people live. Ordinary materials—concrete, glass, wood—become a sequence of refined environments on this Michigan property: a place for classic cars and motorcycles, a path to the lake for an afternoon swim, and a yoga and spa suite for true restoration.

Designed by our newest partner, Todd Beyerlein AIA, the project is now under construction. These renderings trace its internal and external spatial moments, each tuned through natural light, restraint, and a deliberately simplified palette that allows the architecture to step back and the experience to take the lead.

Rebuilt from the ground-up, what stands today is an open, light-⁠filled space designed to flex between work and living, business and ⁠retreat. At just under 1000 square feet this jewel box contains a gas ⁠fireplace, converted vault, fir floors, large deck and a generous ⁠
outdoor space—all within steps of Conway’s pub, music venue, and ⁠the rhythms of Skagit Valley life.⁠

This preservation project offers an old structure a new story. We’re ⁠now looking for the next steward who will honor the history woven ⁠into every corner and the opportunities that await. ⁠
