Heads up to our conditioner lovers:
Our longtime favorite, Carina Organics, is based in Canada and has been a fantastic partner through the ongoing tariff saga. Unfortunately, conditioners (why not shampoo? Your guess is as good as ours) were included in the latest round of tariffs, so it’s no longer economical for them to ship conditioners to the U.S. for now.

Don’t worry, we have inventory to last a while. But some scents will eventually sell out, so if you have a favorite, now’s the time to stock up! Once we’re out of a Carina option, our team can recommend a similar alternative, so you’ll always have a conditioner option here!

Oh, and please be nice to the team. It’s not their fault. 😊

10% of our sales Fri-Sun will be donated to the 8 (Northwest Immigrant Rights Project) to help fund direct legal services for immigrants and advocate for systematic improvements in our *complex* immigration system.

The actions of ICE continue to enrage us. Seeing them increasingly active in our neighborhood — as close as 2 blocks away — really hits home.

This little shop runs on community, and we won’t forget that.

We also have a few extra whistles in the shop. If anyone still needs one, just ask!

The idea is that we offer a replacement for the items that you quickly accumulate the most plastic in without thinking about it. Tough climate news week. Let’s not give up.

The latest UN climate report determined it is now likely unavoidable that we will pass the 1.5°C threshold scientists warned us about. And now we’re mitigating damage.

Our shop is small, and we certainly will never reach the impact a fossil fuel company or big tech company could at reversing the course of damage. But we believe small actions add up, and our PUBLIC community can be a part of “limiting” the damage we do to the planet.

Recommended read: Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson wrote a really helpful / action positive breakdown of the report in her substack (we’ll link in our story post)!

We believe, as she argues, that incremental decisions matter just as much as big transformational change at this point… on food security, safety, and stability for billions of people.

So keep advocating for big transformational change through your vote and voice… but also keep bringing that jar to refill🫙😊
