Annie's Art and Frame

Annie's Art and Frame Independently owned and uniquely Ballard since 1990.

Like the dynamic neighborhood we call home, Annie's Art and Frame hasn't stopped growing, changing, and evolving since day one. What started out as a frame and poster shop in 1990 has grown into something more akin to an interactive art gallery. We still frame posters, but now we've also got unique Seattle-made gifts, a letterpress studio, and we even do installations. We're known for our service,

and with a staff of artists and musicians, we can speak to the creativity and the craftsmanship that go into every item and every service we provide.

This surreal piece is called for a bit of drama. The ornate Fenice moulding by Framers Inventory and a dark blue flocked mat sure did the trick! Does anyone know who the artist is? The piece is entitled “Single Track Mind A” but we can’t make out the artist’s signature 🤔🔍 comment below if you know!

If you live or work in Ballard, you probably know Joel, the unofficial “Mayor of Ballard”. For many years Joel would visit us on his daily walks around the neighborhood. He loved to pick up a coffee table book, make himself comfy right on the floor, and get lost in the pictures. Sometimes our staff would make drawings for him to take home and add to his art collection. These days Joel doesn’t get out much, but we have so many memories of his visits to the shop.

Not everyone knows that Joel is a prolific artist! Luckily Tome Press is getting the word out. They’ve just released this incredible book detailing Joel’s story and his artwork. It’s truly amazing seeing our buddy’s work compiled so beautifully in these pages. And we are lucky enough to have a Joel original on our wall of post-it doodles!

When one color just doesn’t feel like enough, go with four (or five if you count the mat)! This beautiful multicolor print by brian andreas gave us a lot to work with. Luckily the Confetti series by Larson-Juhl comes in nearly every color imaginable, so it seemed like the perfect choice to create this design!

New featured artist in the shop! While ArtWalk took a hiatus for Seafood Fest this month, we still wanted to bring some fresh artwork to our wall. Through the rest of July, we’re featuring the beautiful abstract work of local painter and multimedia artist Celia Bowker. Be sure to come by and check it out in person!

Well, that was fun! As Seattle’s World Cup hosting duties come to a close, we are mourning last night’s devastating loss. But on the bright side, we still have a few Seattle FIFA World Cup posters left, plus a decent amount of the other designs in the series! The Seattle posters are going fast, so let us know if you want one! FIFA

This gorgeous silk rug was a fun challenge. After meticulously sew-mounting it to the backing mat, we had to come up with a way to conceal the fringe. We did this by cutting very narrow channels at both ends for the fringes to slip through and then be secured on the back side. The result is a beautiful, seamless floating look. The dark blue Fairmont moulding by Fotiou and silver silk matboard are the perfect combination to showcase this beautiful piece!

These gorgeous color pop acrylic frames by Two's Company, Inc. are giving Pride Month vibes! Such a treat for the eyes. The pictures and word art that come in the frames are so cute they work as decor all on their own! Or you can easily put in your own 4x6, 5x7, or 3x3 photos.
