Southern Fried Cabbage
Savory Southern Fried Cabbage
Recipe
Ingredients:

1 medium green cabbage, thinly sliced
4 slices of bacon, chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons butter
Directions:

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until it becomes crispy.
Remove the bacon from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Set aside.
In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
Stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet, tossing it to combine with the onion and garlic.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
Once the cabbage is cooked, stir in the cooked bacon and butter, allowing the butter to melt and coat the cabbage.
Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
Serve hot as a delicious side dish.

DO NOTHING CAKE

Cake:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 medium can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350°. Blend all ingredients and pour into prepared 13x9 pan and bake for 40 minutes.

Topping:
1 stick butter
1/2 cup white sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup brown sugar

Combine in medium saucepan and cook for 5 minutes DO NOT BOIL.
Remove from heat and stir in:
1 cup coconut
1 cup pecans, chopped

Pour mixture over hot cake. After cooled, keep cake refrigerated.

Broccoli Cheese Balls are crispy on the outside with 3 kinds of gooey melted cheese and fresh broccoli on the inside. Make a great appetizer!
Ingredients
1 1/2 heaping cups fresh broccoli florets
1 cup shredded Colby cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 ounces Velveeta, cut into small chunks
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 1/4 cups Panko crumbs, divided
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, lightly beaten
Vegetable or Canola oil
Instructions
Steam broccoli until slightly softened. Let cool.
Finely chop broccoli. You want the pieces to be 1/4-inch or less. Place in a large bowl.
Add cheese, red pepper flakes, 1/4 cup Panko crumbs, and 1 egg to bowl with broccoli. Stir well.
Use your hands to shape mixture into balls using about a rounded tablespoon for each ball. You should get 12-14.
Place balls on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Place flour in a bowl.
Place the 2 lightly beaten eggs in a second bowl and mix in 1 tablespoon water.
Place remaining 2 cups Panko crumbs in a third bowl.
Pour about 2 inches of oil in a Dutch oven or heavy pot. Heat oil to 375 degrees. For best results use a thermometer.
Remove broccoli balls from refrigerator, coat in flour, dip in egg mixture, and then coat in Panko crumbs.
Fry about 4 balls at a time cooking until golden brown on all sides.
Drain on a paper towel-lined plate

Buffalo chicken quesadillas 😋❤
Turned crockpot on high to warm up while I cooked chicken breasts on stove with
chili powder
paprika
garlic powder
oregano, salt & pepp. for about 4 minutes on each side.
Used 8oz of cream cheese, 1 cup ranch, 1 cup Buffalo sauce, 2 cups shredded cheese and shredded the chicken into crockpot.
Sautéed some onions and bell peppers in same pan and threw into crockpot right before we ate.
let sit for about an hour on high and stir consistently! Enjoy 😊

Ingredients:
1 pound (500 g) green beans, ends trimmed
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh parmesan cheese shredded
1 tablespoon minced garlic (or 4 cloves garlic, minced)
3/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
1 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese shredded

How To Make:
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with nonstick cooking oil spray.
Arrange green beans on baking sheet in a single layer. Set aside.
In a small bowl mix together olive oil, parmesan, garlic, salt and pepper. Drizzle the oil mixture over the green beans and toss to evenly coat.
Bake for 20 minutes until vibrant and tender-crisp.
Remove from oven and top with the mozzarella cheese. Return to oven and broil (or grill) until the cheese melts and becomes golden (about 4-5 minutes).
Season with salt and pepper, if desired. Serve immediately.

Smothered Chicken with Creamed Spinach, Bacon, Mushrooms😍😍
Ingredients
Chicken:
1 tablespoon butter
1.5 lb chicken breast skinless, boneless (4 small chicken breast or 2 large chicken breast, halved)
salt
¼ teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
¼ teaspoon paprika
Creamed spinach:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
10 oz spinach fresh
4 garlic cloves minced
⅔ cup half and half
⅔ cup mozzarella cheese shredded
Other Ingredients:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 oz mushrooms sliced
4 slices bacon cooked, chopped
4 slices Pepper Jack cheese or Monterey Jack Cheese with Jalapenos
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Butter the bottom of the baking dish (I used an oval casserole dish measured 13 inches x 9 inches x 4 inches deep).
Generously season chicken breasts on both sides with salt, lemon pepper seasoning and a small amount of paprika. Place the chicken breasts, flat side down, into the greased baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes at 375 F.
How to make creamed spinach:
In the mean time, heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Add spinach and cook for only 1 or 2 minutes, covered, until the spinach is thoroughly heated through and start to wilt. Remove from heat. Add minced garlic and half and half. Bring to boil. Add shredded mozzarella cheese and keep stirring, on high heat, until mozzarella cheese starts to melt – about 30 seconds. Reduce heat to simmer and keep stirring until you have a nice, smooth creamed spinach – about 30 seconds or 1 more minute. Season with salt to your taste. Remove from heat.
Cook mushrooms:
In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. Add sliced mushrooms and cook on high-medium heat for 1-2 minutes until mushroom caramelize. Do not salt mushrooms or it will prevent the caramelization.
Smothered chicken assembly:
Remove the chicken breasts from the oven (you baked them for 15-20 minutes). Top each chicken breast with the creamed spinach, chopped cooked bacon, cooked mushrooms and broken slices of pepper jack cheese. Bake in the oven, uncovered for 15-20 more minutes, until chicken is cooked through, no longer pink in the center, and the juices run clear. Broil for the last 2-4 minutes, if desired, being careful not to burn the cheese on top

DUTCH APPLE BREAD- Try it, you will not regret it! 😋😍
Ingredients :
1 cup water
2 tsp butter
3 cups flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons yeast
1/2 cup apple, peel also diced
1/3 cup walnut or crushed walnut

How to prepare
Put half a cup of warm water and add a teaspoon of sugar.
Add yeast to warm water for 10 minutes. Put the flour, salt, butter and the rest of the water and knead the ingredients well.
Add yeast to the dough and knead well. You can add more water if the dough requires it. In a deep bowl, mix together apples, cinnamon, brown sugar and nuts.
Mix them well and leave them aside for half an hour. Mix the dough with the apple and nuts mixture. Prepare the bread mold and sprinkle it with oil and put the dough in the mold.
Put it in the oven for 40 minutes, or until the bread is done and done
