With 9 hours left and 23% of our goal raised, I want to reflect on the number of performances presented at Odd Duck Studio that included the Premiere of September Skies during 2011 culminating with the final four tonight and tomorrow night.
Eclectic Theater Company presented a record breaking 423 performances amidst a yet to be counted number of shows produced, co-produced or rented. Shows ranged from Classic, Contemporary and New Plays, Improv shows, Stand-Up Comedy shows and Sketch Comedy shows plus Play readings, Screenplay readings and even Spoken word with Butoh dance and Rock bands. We also served as a film location, a rehearsal space, a classroom on numerous occasions.
I don’t believe any other company or venue can match our stats for 2011. This says something important about what the Odd Duck Studio means to the Creative Community of the Greater Seattle Area.
It is thriving with content provided by artists that are emerging to accomplished veterans! Our funding thus far relies on Box Office Revenue which, when we sell over half houses, keep us sustainable. But half of the revenue brought in at the box office goes back to the Artists providing the content. And that is important to note as well.
I’ve not yet calculated the number of shows and performances already scheduled for 2012, but with your support, I know they will have a greater chance of success!
