Design Well Spent Company was hired at a pivotal time for Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (RMCF) as the brand set out to reinvent themselves to reinvigorate their current store portfolio and pique the interest of new franchisees. Our task at hand was to develop a whole new retail design concept for the brand that would honor their history and uplevel the customer experience.

At the heart of our design is a celebration of craft. RMCF made-in-store elements are given center stage, offering customers a front-row view into the authentic artistry behind their fan-favorite items. These open moments of transparency and connection highlight the care, tradition, and human touch that go into every handmade product.

Subtle, whimsical touches and unexpected details are sprinkled throughout our spaces, inviting moments of curiosity, discovery, and delight.

Hello, Chicago!

Check out our beautiful Chicago flagship location for Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (RMCF)! The RMCF team brought Design Well Spent Company on to design a whole new retail concept package for them, which included new millwork, fixtures, signage, and a finishes kit of parts, along with an updated customer journey and store layout.

In addition to an overall look & feel update, some of the most notable upgrades included a complete re-design of their chocolate cases to ensure the wonderful chocolate treats and candy apples really pop, digital signage, and clear focal points. The customer experience was also improved through some simple layout changes, like grouping POS stations together so customers could browse, select, and then purchase at the end.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Chicago, IL is the perfect flagship location for the new concept Design Well Spent Company designed for the brand. Situated at the corner of N. State Street & E. Madison in the historic One North State Building, the charm and prime location are hard to beat!

This store design features all of the components we developed, including multiple signage types and window graphics. Also featured here is the new version of Truffles the bear! Truffles has always been a beloved element in Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory locations, but he also deserved a refresh with the launch of this brand-new concept!
