This week the fall weather is really kicking in and making me think about cozy projects and fireplaces and cats and hot coffee and chilly, leaf-filled walks.

R u a witch? Or do you just need a broom? Do you maybe just wanna get in the fall spirit with some friends? The talented and delightful Sarah Benson of will be teaching us all how to make gorgeous hand brooms - TWO OF THEM. You can keep one - and give one to a fellow witchy babe. I might give one to my parking witch as she has been EVER SO HELPFUL when I sing my little song to her. I won't sing it for you - but here's the words:

Parking witch. Parking witch.
You are my parking witch.
You help me park in a place for me.
A place that nobody else can see.
You're my (here it gets really high and weird vibrato) parking wi-I-I-itch. (Now whispers) and I love you.

There you go. You can use that to summon your very own parking witch to help you with especially tricky parking in the city. I mean, we park at the fu***ng Market downtown. SHE IS GOOD.
Anyway. Come make brooms with us. It'll be fun. The studio is in Pioneer Square - just one block from the light rail station so maybe you don't even need a parking witch at all. Don't tell her though. It would hurt her feelings. And then who knows what would happen.

Guided by the talented Brooke Westlund, you’ll craft your own 12” x 12” PNW-inspired masterpiece on a wood panel using a variety of materials like paint, gold leaf, vintage postcards, and stickers. To give your piece a signature touch, you’ll finish with a transparent overlay featuring iconic imagery of a ferry boat, Mount Rainier, and lush trees.

I'm not really sure how this happened. I hate RED ONIONS only a little bit more than I hate WHISTLING. I'm baffled as to how I ended up ordering this card. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE - the artist who made them - but that doesn't negate my feelings about red onions.

Sometimes people - especially servers - mistake my hatred for red onions and think that I just don't like any kind of onions. It's just the red ones. The red ones are horrid. If I accidentally eat a tiny bit of one, I get sick to my stomach and I can SMELL it on my skin for like a week afterward. Maybe it's an allergy.

In short, someone please buy these last four cards so I can stop tasting red onions in the air each time I walk past them.

And we're BACK! Our summer break for classes was delightful and now we're READY to get back to cool weather and CRAFTS. We're starting our fall season with some of our most popular sessions.

Gather your best peeps and come by for a visit. Make a portrait of your pets, make a broom, mend your clothing or just embellish it with cross stitch or applique. Shoot yarn out of a gun or sew rope together to make a bowl. There's all kinds of nonsense to get into.

Our classes take place in the Tashiro Kaplan building in Pioneer Square -- either in our studio space or in a gallery upstairs (when we have a bigger group). It's right across the street from the Pioneer Square light rail stop & street parking is surprisingly easy to find around the building. Failing that - there's a pay lot one block away across from the fire department. YOUR CAR WILL BE SO SAFE FROM FIRE.

Want to come over? Grab some tickets. Sooner is better! You get five bucks off each ticket if you purchase it at least two weeks before class. That's NICE of us!

Pop by for a little visit if you're out and about for First Thursday. I'm in studio # 102 in the Tashiro Kaplan building in Pioneer Square.

We open around 5 p.m. and close up shop around 9 p.m.
