We’re proud to announce that LightArt’s Somari Collection is the Architectural Lighting winner in METROPOLIS’s 2026 Planet Positive Awards.

Somari reimagines the warmth of traditional paper lanterns for contemporary commercial spaces, pairing sculptural design with material transparency and American craftsmanship.

Available in three geometries—Saucer, Sphere, and Cylinder—the modular collection ranges from standalone pendants to stacked compositions up to eight feet long.

Every component is engineered, fabricated, and finished in-house at our U.S. facility, reducing manufacturing waste and transportation impacts. Red List Approved and carrying a Declare label, Somari also supports informed material specification, while integrated LEDs deliver energy-efficient illumination.

This recognition celebrates an idea central to Somari: beautiful decorative lighting can advance environmental responsibility without compromising performance.

Thank you to Metropolis Magazine for recognizing the collection.

A well-designed reception area should support both first impressions and everyday comfort.

In this space, Acoustic Echo Fin Style C pairs integrated lighting with ceiling-based sound absorption in a sculptural pendant form. Its vertical components help tame sound across the room, while the modular design offers designers flexibility to create a distinctive visual statement aligned with the space’s color story or brand.

A unified workplace design strategy requires solutions that transition effortlessly between different functional zones without sacrificing acoustic or visual comfort.

At the HarperCollins offices in Toronto the design team faced common challenges of contemporary commercial architecture: exposed ceiling decks, expansive glass curtain walls, and polished concrete flooring. Both the arrival lobby and the employee breakroom required tailored ambient illumination and sound mitigation, but each space demanded a different acoustic outcome.

By standardizing on the Acoustic Echo grids throughout these key amenity hubs, the project achieved seamless visual continuity while meeting distinct acoustic demands. At the front reception desk, the fixture acts as a focused acoustic canopy, controlling reverberation to maintain speech privacy during visitor arrivals and administrative calls. In the high-volume cafe and lounge, the faceted felt modules absorb excess sound across large communal dining areas, preventing ambient chatter from becoming overwhelming.

Integrating task lighting and acoustic felt into a single modular specification eliminated ceiling clutter, reduced coordination complexity, and established a balanced acoustic environment across the entire workplace.

Suspended beneath the slatted ceiling, LightArt’s Acoustic Echo fixtures in crisp white provide gentle ambient illumination while actively softening sound across the room.

In spaces where footsteps, chatter, and open sightlines can quickly elevate stress, Echo’s sculpted 50% recycled PET felt fins absorb ambient reverberation to create a quieter, more restorative setting for patients, families, and staff.

LightArt’s Acoustic Echo fixtures transform an open, high-ceiling breakroom into a space that feels energetic, cohesive, and comfortable. Suspended above the communal kitchen and café seating, the bold blue geometric forms create a dramatic overhead focal point while helping to manage sound in a naturally social, high-traffic setting.

Echo’s integrated illumination brings a soft, functional glow to the space below, while its acoustic felt elements introduce texture and help temper the effects of an exposed industrial ceiling and hard surrounding surfaces.

Designing for collaboration often means designing for volume.

At Spin Master’s vibrant headquarters, the central town hall and dining space brings people together around tiered stadium seating, communal workstations, and open kitchen zones. While double-height volumes and reflective surfaces like polished concrete, structural pillars, and glass provide wonderful architectural openness, they also introduce significant acoustic challenges.

To control reverberation without interrupting the energetic sightlines, the design team integrated LightArt’s Acoustic Echo fixtures. Suspended throughout the exposed ceiling grid, Echo’s folded felt geometry provides targeted sound absorption right where conversation naturally gathers, while delivering comfortable downlighting over seating and transition areas.

By pairing high-performance PET felt acoustic management with architectural illumination, the installation proves that acoustic interventions can serve as primary design elements rather than afterthoughts. The result is a space that supports both high-decibel team celebrations and focused independent work in complete comfort.

For the common area at One California, we delivered a custom Casper Box cluster configuration that turns the elevator lobby ceiling into the focal point of the space.

Project details:
• Two cluster configuration fixtures, approx. 20'L x 6'W x 30"H, plus a standalone 30" x 30" x 24" white box fixture
• White opal diffusion with a fully integrated solid-state LED system
• 120–277v drivers, 0–10v dimming, 4000K
• Custom matte silver powder-coated steel fin frame, matte silver canopies, stainless steel suspension cable with adjustable drops

The staggered box geometry does two things at once: it delivers even, glare-free ambient light across a high-traffic circulation path, and it gives the warm wood-paneled lobby a strong contemporary counterpoint.

For Driscoll Children's Hospital, we produced a set of custom Casper Boxes for soft, glowing volumes designed to feel calm, playful, and welcoming.

Three custom Casper Boxes (36", and 48" cubes) float at varying heights in the double-height play space, echoing the architecture's bold green window frames with quiet white light. In the elevator lobby, three 72" Casper Beams wash the mosaic mural with even, diffused illumination.

Grateful to be part of a project designed with young patients and their families in mind.

This vibrant communal hub showcases how architectural lighting and biophilic elements can work in tandem to establish human-scaled zones within a large commercial footprint.

Suspended beneath a dark architectural trellis, a stepped grid of LightArt’s Casper Boxes forms a striking overhead light plane. Rather than relying on harsh downward spotlights, the seamless construction diffuses an even, ambient glow across the tables and surrounding greenery. The result is a welcoming, daylight-like atmosphere that minimizes glare, complements the deep wood tones, and supports both lively group conversations and heads-down laptop work.
