NEWS FLASH: Upon the news that the HSCG Annual Conference has been canceled this year, many Essential Depot customers are re-assessing plans by attending an alternative conference which offers programming for soap and cosmetic makers, the Come Celebrate Lavender Conference in Wytheville, Virginia.

Essential Depot has sponsored this Conference for the last four years. It is a Conference centered around Lavender: education, farming, and product development. In 2026, the Conference had decided to expand its programming to include a dedicated product-based maker track that is designed specifically for those interested in soap and handmade body products. The track was not designed to be a replacement for HSCG not knowing of the conference cancellation. Rather, an opportunity for makers to continue learning, connecting, and engaging with industry peers and suppliers of lavender in a different — yet related — educational environment. The Conference will feature your all-time favorite speaker: Dr. Kevin Dunn, funnier and more entertaining than ever. As well, it will feature a new favorite speaker: Dr. Marc Hight. Dr. Dunn is the Keynote Speaker and will separately speak on essential oils, and specificaly: Lavender. Dr. Hight will speak on content for those short advertising videos on TikTok, InstaGram, Facebook, etc. Other engaging and accessible speakers will give insights into lavender, the soap and cosmetic business (and beyond!), as well as a variety of related topics.
