Flour, sugar, animal feed, and other dry goods were often sold in cotton sacks. Once the contents were used, resourceful homemakers washed the bags, removed the printing, and repurposed the sturdy cotton into dish towels, aprons, pillowcases, dresses, and children's clothing.
And Valley vintage has a large collection. They are all so cute.
