It’s pumpkin time!! Please make a visit out to Valley View Farm Stand in Big Lake for a huge variety of pumpkins, flowers and fall veggies. This is a family farm and Linda and Jerry are the hardest working people I have ever seen!

I had the adventure of taking my parents to the big garage sale and car show at the Skagit County Fairgrounds today. Things are happening pretty fast and I can see bits of decline every time we spend an extended amount of time together.
My dad kept saying, “I can’t believe I haven’t seen one person I know!”
We did finally meet a couple that they both knew - the man had worked at Skagit Steel with my dad, so they sat down over a bag of kettle corn and chatted. The timing was perfect because they were both tired from all the walking.

I know that these days are special and I’m trying to make the most of them - if you are in the same situation, please take the time, no matter how busy you are. We just never know how much time we have left!

I’m just breathing a sigh of relief over the weather we had on Saturday - the afternoon was so wonderful!
But…. it’s time to look ahead! I will be at a holiday event on small business Saturday (Nov. 28th) in Anacortes. The market is being organized by Creative Avenue NW and will be a great kick-off to the Christmas shopping season.

My booth is going to be a bit smaller than normal, but will be filled with lots of Christmas-themed goodies. What would you like to see?

We all have one of those friends - they usually show up late and uninvited , and yet, they manage to steal the show every time. Wanda is one of those “special” friends and she would like to get all of the attention today! If you and a friend would like to snag a picture with her (she would love it!) I’m sure that anyone would be happy to take that for you. We will see you soon!

Today is a somber day as we remember 9/11. It feels like the perfect time to be with loved ones and friends. It is my hope that tomorrow will bring people together as we gather and celebrate friendships - old and new. I look forward to meeting all of you. You are appreciated!

Just including my introduction if you are new here!

“Good morning, Woodsy friends - my name is Angel Dye, also known as “The Woodsy Wife”.
I learned to sew when I was young by watching my mom make clothes for my Barbie dolls and matching dresses for my sisters and myself. I loved going to the fabric store with her and looking at all of the colors and patterns. I wanted to touch everything!

After moving from city life to the woods of Sedro Woolley and the marriage of our daughters, I decided to make a little business for myself. I’m a very nostalgic and sentimental person, so I always return to the designs that I remember as a child - happy florals, paisleys, gingham checks and anything Holly Hobbie!

For this event, I’m focusing on some of your favorite things from the last 10 years. I will also be offering up some of the textiles that I have collected over the years, so this is your chance to enjoy these beautiful vintage pieces for yourself!

The Woodsy Wife isn’t just about making things to sell, I strive to bring beauty into every corner of my home by using simple materials in interesting and creative ways. My hope is to preserve and share the beauty of the past with today’s generation in a new way. Thank you for following along on my journey! We hope to see all of you at:
