Anna Fay Campbell, was 89 years young. She died in the Helia Care facility on Saturday, August 29th, 2026 at 10pm. While surrounded by family. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benton, Illinois. Public viewing will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 8th at 9am. Funeral services will immediately follow at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be at Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Anna Fay Campbell was born in Jefferson County on January 13th, 1937. The daughter of Stanley and Mabel (Green) Mc Cowen. She was married to her first husband, Lyle Dale Bates, September 3rd, 1955, they had 2 sons, Michael Eugene Bates and Vernon Dale Bates. She married her second husband, Clyde Joseph Campbell, May 12th, 1967. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two sisters, one brother, three brothers in law and a grandchild. Anna Fay is survived by her siblings, Doris Cockrum, Mary Haley, David (Kathie) Mc Cowen, all from Waltonville. She is also survived by her sons, Michael (Linda) Bates, from Arizona and Vernon (Dinah) Bates who reside in Illinois. She has 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends, too many to name and loved by all!

For those who wish Memorials may be made to The Quilting Group at St. Joseph Catholic Church or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Billy R. Adams, 72, of Benton passed away on Tuesday morning September 1, 2026 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Adams was born in Christopher, Illinois on September 15, 1953 the son of Kenneth & Louella (Irby) Adams.

He was a member of the North Benton Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, tinker with cars and collect stamps. Mr. Adams was a Coal Miner and worked at Orient #3 and #6, then went to Celebrity Boats, then to Crownline Boats, then to Prairie State Coal Mine and he retired from there.

Brian Adams of Valier
Zach Adams of Benton
2 Grandchildren: Archer Dean Ryan Adams & Paisley May Adams
2 Sisters:
Linda Walker & husband Adrian of Benton
Carol Miller of Iowa
1 Brother: Kenneth Adams of Benton
He is also survived by several Nieces & Nephews and a lot of friends.

Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his Parents and 1 Sister-Patty Herrmann.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday September 4th at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton with Larry Toms officiating. Burial will be in the K**b Prairie Cemetery in Akin. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday September 3rd and from 10:00A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to a Charity of the donor’s choice.

Nancy Ann Fligor – Carbondale
Nancy Ann Fligor, 79, of Carbondale, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born on November 8, 1946, in Carbondale, Illinois, to the late William Isaac “Ike” and Wilma Dee (Millhouse) Brandon.
On June 17, 1966, Nancy married the love of her life, David Fligor, in Carbondale, Illinois. Together, they shared more than 60 wonderful years of marriage, creating a lifetime of cherished memories.
Nancy dedicated many years to Southern Illinois University, where she worked as a librarian at Morris Library until her retirement. She had a love for reading that remained a meaningful part of her life.
Nancy was an accomplished quilter, a passion she embraced wholeheartedly. Over the years, she lovingly created more than 200 quilts, each one reflecting her creativity, patience, and attention to detail. She also took pleasure in traveling, especially cruises, and enjoyed field trialing horses. She loved spending time with animals from her beloved horses and Pygmy goats to the many dogs she loved over the years.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, David Fligor; her children, Mark Fligor. (Alana) and Christy Roof (Greg); her grandchildren, Lexi Roof, Eileen Fligor, Rex Roof, and Clara Fligor; her brother, Kent Brandon (Linda); her close family, Jim and Kathy Anderson and Dianna Miller; her caretakers, Ellie Frey, Judy Simpson, Mary Kay Steele, and Susie Berkey; along with many other family members and friends who were blessed to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Isaac “Ike” and Wilma Dee Brandon.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Carbondale. Interment will be held privately.
