What’s so good about this weekend?

Cottonwood will be in two places at once!

The store will be open as usual! Lots of creativity happening! New yarn. New Japanese fabrics. New quilting fabrics. So much more!

The Cottonwood team will also be at the Annapolis Quilt Guild’s show at the Riva Trace Baptist Church in Davidsonville! We are not only a vendor there, but most of our team are also members of the guild, with quilts in the show! The AQG show is full of amazing quilts by very talented members, a boutique with items made by members, a country store of pre-owned fabrics, lots of great vendors (including us!) and free demos too! Come see the winning quilts!

Our booth features brand new quilt kits that are ready to sew! That’s right! No cutting! These kits include binding and backing! We will also have brand new precuts not seen before! Show specials on travel machines! Our exclusive Maryland Flag fabric, and more!

National Museum of the American Indian Quilt Along Update - First Block is available for download.

Reflect on the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the ever-evolving nature of the country, communities, and future we share through a Native lens by participating in a free quilt along hosted by Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI).

The first block is a raw edge applique designed by Lauren Good Day. Lauren Good Day, "Good Day Woman," is an award-winning artist and fashion designer. Good Day is an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes (Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara Nation) and registered with Sweet Grass Cree First Nation. Dedicated to revitalizing the arts and culture of her people, she lives and works in her traditional homelands in North Dakota, where her roles as a mother and tribal member guide her creative and cultural contributions to art, fashion, and community. She has shown her work at juried shows, and her work can be found in many public and private art collections.

We have hundreds of new vintage and antique postcards just in time for the Mixed Media Club on June 14th at 12! Some of these postcards date to the early 1900s! Lots of mixed media products too—distressing ink, papers, dye cuts, stamps, stickers and more. The first week of June has been busy at Cottonwood — your favorite local shop for quilting and sewing, arts, crafts, antique and vintage items and so much more! Lots of new canvas, new unusually large zippers that we can’t wait to use in a quirky project, Liberty of London fat quarter bundles, sirdar yarn, Petit Pan French fabric on bolts…new classes…and the same great energy! Oh and Janome, Juki and Bernina machines for all makers!! Everyone is welcome!
