Community Impact Spotlight: RCS Empowers, Inc

Strong communities are built by organizations that invest in people.

For decades, RCS Empowers has been creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment by providing meaningful work, job training, and support services throughout Sheboygan County.

When RCS set out to create a new facility, the goal was about more than expanding space. It was about creating an environment that supports their mission, empowers their employees, and allows them to continue serving our community for years to come.

We're grateful to have partnered with RCS on a facility designed to foster connection, accessibility, and opportunity. Seeing organizations like RCS continue to grow reminds us that architecture has the power to support missions that extend far beyond the walls of a building.

🔨 Building Our Future | A Look at the Progress

Just over a year ago, we walked through a building filled with possibility.

The photo on the left was taken in February 2025, when we first began envisioning what this space could become. Today, the photo on the right shows where we are in July 2026. Framing is underway, the layout is taking shape, and our future office is beginning to come to life.

Designing our own workspace has been a unique experience. Every decision has been made with the same thoughtful approach we bring to our clients' projects, creating a space that supports collaboration, strengthens relationships, and reflects who we are as a firm.

It's exciting to see the transformation underway, and we're looking forward to sharing more progress as we continue building our future.

The Williams Bay Residence was thoughtfully designed to balance everyday functionality with spaces that inspire connection, relaxation, and memorable experiences. Clean architectural lines, natural materials, and expansive windows create a home that embraces its surroundings while providing comfortable spaces for both family living and entertaining.

This custom residence includes more than 8,300 square feet of living space, five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, one half bath, and unique features like a show garage and an interior slide, making it a home that's as personal as it is practical.

Every custom home begins with listening. By understanding our clients' vision and lifestyle, we're able to create spaces that are uniquely theirs from the inside out.

This past weekend was International Cat Day! 🐾🐈

To celebrate, we’re introducing some of the feline friends behind the team at Abacus Architects. Experts in box inspections, keyboard supervision, quality control and, of course, taking very important naps. They may not make it into the studio, but they’re definitely part of the Abacus family.
