Found this amazing older wallpaper at a Habitat restore for $5. We were going to put up wood but this was cheaper and it was something I could do on my own. Found the cool light there too. I embellished it with some transfers. The cow is a painting my daughter did for me a few years ago. Some of the paint peeled on the ceiling so now that's another project another day.

SVPD OFFICER RETIRES: Deputy Chief Lawrence "Butch" Boutte retires after 26 years at the Sierra Vista Police Department.

During his retirement ceremony Friday, Boutte was lauded for his service to the community both on and off the force, his knowledge and leadership skills, and the culture he helped build at the police station.

Sierra Vista Mayor Clea McCaa presented Boutte with a Certificate of Appreciation for his service to the community and a key to the City. Afterwards, City Manager Chuck Potucek spoke, noting that Boutte and his wife, SVUSD Board President Yulonda Boutte were the best examples he could think of as leaders in their professions and community, and how he would miss Boutte's sense of humor at work.

Throughout the ceremony, Sierra Vista Police Chief Chris Hiser praised Boutte for his expertise, professionalism, leadership, work ethic, and contributions to creating an even better culture at SVPD.

When it was Boutte's turn to speak, he thanked his wife, children, and grandchildren for being a great support system throughout his career, showed appreciation to many who had travelled from out of town to attend the ceremony, and noted what a great community and culture we have in Sierra Vista. Boutte also spoke to how hard it was to decide to leave as his retirement neared, before doing his final sign off.

"PD 189, after 26 years of service, I would like to express my appreciation to the City of Sierra Vista and members of this community. To my fellow law enforcement officers, civilians, and dispatch, it's been an honor to serve alongside you. PD 189, 10-7 on service for a final time," Boutte stated as he signed off.
