Yes, a pottery injury! Of course I’ve had this pain for quite some time for four months… Ugh, tennis elbow… so that means applying ice, constantly wearing the brace, physical therapy and anti-inflammatory meds. The good news is no broken bones, torn ligaments, or arthritis. The bad news is I cannot use it for 4 to 6 weeks and right in the middle of busy holiday season coming up. 😞 😩 🙄

So I guess this is the universe’s way of telling me I need to slow down a bit. Let me reassure you all, this may slow me down, but not stop me. The show must go on! ⛺️

Pottery Fail!! 🙄
Not every pottery experiment is a success… and this black and terra blanc clay combination was definitely one of those lessons. 😬

I had expected the black clay to fire black, but it never did. Instead, it turned a chocolate brown—cone 5 and 6. From the greenware stage to the bisque firing and finally the glaze firing, I kept hoping it would come together, but unfortunately, it never did.

As potters, we don’t just celebrate the beautiful finished pieces—we learn from the disappointments too. Every epic fail teaches us something valuable for the next creation.

Back to the drawing board, back to the wheel, and on to the next experiment. That’s all part of the handmade journey.
