Today marks 25 years of Aidan Design! 🎉 That’s 25 years of beautiful kitchens, thoughtful renovations, creative challenges, countless design decisions, and, most importantly, wonderful relationships along the way.

To our clients who have trusted us with their homes, our talented team, and the architects, builders, and industry partners who have collaborated with us over the years, THANK YOU! You’ve all played a part in making Aidan Design what it is today. 💙

Here’s to 25 years of doing what we love, and to all the beautiful spaces and stories still to come.
Happy anniversary to us! 🎊

Countertop cabinets are having a moment, and we understand why! They bring storage down to where you actually need it while giving a kitchen that built-in, furniture-like feel. ✨

We love using countertop cabinets in our designs to hide small appliances, create a coffee station, or simply give everyday items a home without sacrificing more counter space than necessary.

Thank you HGTV Magazine for featuring our Maryland kitchen in “18 Brown Kitchen Design Ideas That Feel Warm, Rich and Timeless.” For this space, Nadia Subaran chose a rich brown stain rather than an opaque paint, allowing the natural wood grain to show through and bring even more warmth and depth to the cabinetry. Brass hardware adds a little polish, while black pendants give the palette just the right amount of contrast. 🤎 🖤

Thinking brown for your next kitchen? Consider this your sign. Visit the link in bio to see the full feature. 🔗

Wondering what colors are taking over kitchen cabinetry at the moment? The Spruce asked designers to weigh in on the shades they’re seeing everywhere, from warm neutrals and earthy greens to richer, moodier hues - and our very own Kelly Emerson gave her take!

One of our favorites: charcoal blue. Can’t decide between blue and black? Consider it the best of both worlds. As Kelly shares, the shade offers the richness and depth of a dark cabinet while still bringing the softness and versatility of blue. 💫

Thank you for including Kelly! Visit the link in bio for the full article.🔗

Not every inch of a renovation needs to be the splurge. 💰

At Aidan Design, we’d rather invest where quality, performance and craftsmanship make a meaningful difference, then make smart choices elsewhere. Custom cabinetry where it solves a problem. A beautiful stone where it has impact. Hardworking materials where durability matters most. A good renovation budget isn’t about spending equally. It’s about spending intentionally. ✨

Sometimes the best square footage in a renovation is square footage you steal from somewhere else. 📐A little-used closet, oversized hallway or awkward adjacent room can completely change what’s possible in a kitchen or bath. Before assuming the only answer is an addition, we look closely at the space already inside the walls. Your house just may have more room than you think. 🤔

Earlier this week, the Aidan Design team traded the office for a little trip to Sub-Zero Wolf Cove Columbia with Amy Gaeta. We talked kitchens, checked out what’s new, and may have added a few things to our wish lists along the way. 😉

Thanks for having us, Amy! Always a fun visit.

Before choosing bathroom tile, we ask a much less glamorous question: What drives you crazy about your bathroom now? 🤪

Not enough storage? Two people competing for the sink? A shower that feels cramped? Nowhere to put a towel within arm’s reach?

Pretty comes later. First, we solve the annoyances. That’s how a bathroom becomes an upgrade to your actual morning, not simply your house. ✨

“But what about resale?”

We hear it. And yes, smart renovation decisions matter. But if you’re planning to live in your home for years, designing every room for an imaginary future buyer can leave you with a house that doesn’t really feel like yours. 🏡

So choose the bold color. Make room for the giant range if you love to cook. Build the coffee station. A well-designed home can be both a smart investment and unmistakably personal. 💫

We love a dramatic before and after, but the best transformations go well beyond new cabinetry and finishes. This Bethesda renovation gave our clients better flow, smarter storage, and a kitchen designed for the way they actually live. 💫

Swipe for the before, because this one deserves a double take. 👀
