The mudroom that does it all.

This space is the landing pad for groceries, the catcher of muddy shoes, the overflow pantry, and the laundry room. Basically, if something is happening in this house, it probably passes through here first.

We added floor to ceiling cabinetry for maximum storage, a long counter for sorting and folding, and durable beadboard that can handle real life. And that charcoal tile floor in herringbone pattern? It's working overtime to camouflage the evidence.

So honored to be featured in Voyage Maryland Magazine!

The article covers my journey from urban planning to launching RedBird ReDesign, how we grew into the team we are today. And a share of where the little birdie idea came from :)

Thirteen years later, I am so grateful for my amazing staff and the kind clients who have come to trust us with all their home designs.

We just finished a project where we had to start by rescuing the floors!

The hardwoods were stained in a super dark ebony that was just swallowing all the natural light in the house. The clients wanted lighter and brighter throughout the house, so our Fine Living team sanded everything down and tested out a couple of sample stains.

In the end, we decided to skip the stain altogether and went with the natural wood tone topped with a quality sealant. It completely changed the energy of the home and really brought out the gorgeous natural grain of the wood. It makes the perfect bright, clean base for the rest of the design.

Stay tuned to see what was next on our task list in this beautiful home.

We’ve spent years building a renovation team we trust completely. We communicate with our contractors constantly, collaborate with them closely, and genuinely enjoy working alongside them!

What matters most to us isn’t just beautiful work, it’s creating a renovation experience that feels organized, transparent, and supportive from start to finish. Every RedBird contractor shares that same mindset: happy clients always come first.

It is easy to get inspired by summery colors and floral theme wallpaper when you’re designing a bathroom in the spring. But don't let these bright, sunny days fool you into skipping a crucial step: your lighting plan.

While natural light is abundant right now, your indoor lighting needs to work twice as hard after the summer months when the days get shorter and darker.

For this bathroom, we balanced the vibrant aesthetic with a smart lighting design, including gorgeous pendant lights by the vanity, so the space stays perfectly illuminated all year long.

It's that time of year — out with the heavy coats, in with the swim goggles. 🏊‍♀️

If you live in an older home without a front hall closet (it's more common than you think!), a hall tree is genuinely one of the hardest working pieces of furniture you can own. I have one and I just decided to empty it to transition to the warmer weather — the amount of stuff it holds is honestly impressive. Also mildly alarming.

Swipe to see the evidence.

This is the perfect moment to do a seasonal reset — sort what you actually need (donate the rest), box up winter gear, and set yourself up for spring and summer. Your future self grabbing an organized pool bag on the way out the door will thank you.

The wait is over on the kitchen renovation we shared earlier this month — and it was so worth it.

The curved cabinets have earned a few minutes of fame, and that blue oven is the kind of choice that makes people stop scrolling. White and brass throughout, a scallop tile detail behind the range, and an island that can actually handle the entire family.

Light wood with heavy grain and square tile (it's hip again!) in soft green. Add a pebble shower floor and you might think you're at a day spa. This primary bath reno has all the details.

"I can't recommend Colleen, Annie, and the Redbird team more highly. They worked with us every step of the way during our home remodel, including design, furniture selection, and contractor coordination. Our home looks gorgeous and functions beautifully... Bringing them in is one of the best investments we've ever made!" — Kate O.

Window treatments are one of those line items that surprise almost every client — and costs are only going up. 📈

If you're buying a new home or planning a renovation, add them into your budget for them early. They're a necessity for privacy and light control, not to mention adding that finishing touch.

"8 Design Trends Designers Think Are Finally Back in 2026" just dropped, and my portfolio called — it wants credit!

This is a great article (I agree with all these!) and here are highlights of four that I've been living by for a while now:

🌿 Wallpaper — Floor-to-ceiling botanical wallpaper in a guest bath.
☀️ Earthy Warm Minimalism — White oak cabinetry, clean lines, warm wood floors, and a stunning painting waiting for you at the end of the kitchen.
🪵 Wood Paneling — Slat wall + bold landscape art = a moment. This is not your grandmother's wood paneling.
💡 Statement Lighting — That fluted pedestal dining table deserved a pendant that could keep up. This fixture does not disappoint.
