Recently, someone called me to take a look at some watches. They mentioned they had sold all of their gold jewelry years ago, but thought I should take a quick look at what they still had.

Tucked away was this small ring. The markings were completely gone due to a poor resizing job, so it could easily have been overlooked.

This tiny 10k gold tie tack with a broken shank was just purchased for $80 for the gold content alone. This sterling silver butter knife was just purchased for $32. $112 just for two small items. There could be hundreds or even thousands sitting in your house collecting dust. Not only do we buy gold and silver, unlike other buyers we offer free sorting. If you aren't sure what is gold or silver, we can help you go through your jewelry or old silverware and other pieces, looking for marks that many can miss. Sometimes older silver pieces were not marked, and resizing a ring can remove the gold hallmark. Other countries have used hallmarks that aren't your standard 925 or 585, and many buyers can overlook these.
