As many of you know we have recently moved out of the store front in Hartford and have taken the business closer to its humble beginnings. What most don't know is the reasoning behind the decision...

Our youngest daughter was diagnosed with functional neurologic disorder which refers to a group of common neurological movement disorders caused by an abnormality in how the brain functions. There is a medical facility that specializes in this disorder - but it isn't exactly close to home. After much discussion, we decided to do a slight downscale of the business and move it home. We'll take the income we were using to pay the overhead at the shop and put it towards providing her with a place to live - and other expenses - near the treatment facility.

So. We're once again working from the house. We're now located in Slinger just a few driveways behind Burger King.

We're still ironing out some of the details, but we're going to begin offering unique products to the local community via this group. Most of the items featured here will not be available from our normal Etsy shops. We hope that you'll not only stick with us, but that you'll help us promote our small veteran owned, family run home based business by inviting others to join our little group.

This is the mug production area of the new "Creations Studio" .... aka Mug Doodles portion of the studio - we prep, burn, pack and ship all the coffee mugs from this 20' x 6' area. Up to 300 mugs in an 8 hour day... The picture is a panoramic shot -on the far right side is our prep area. We take the printed sublimation paper from the printers (barely visible on the far right) and tape them to the mugs... then its on to the second section of the wall where the mug and paper are inserted into one of our 4 George Knight mug presses, or if we're real busy into our sublimation over, then after a quick bath to cool them down, they're off to the gift boxing area on the far left. Once filled with shredded paper and put in gift boxes, we put them on the shipping table to be boxed, weighed and shipped. We use air pillows and bio-degradable packing peanuts when shipping the mugs. Mug Doodles Creations 101

SAVE THE WEB! COLLECT ALL THE DOMAINS! Creations 101, LLC is now the proud owner of yet another dang domain name (or two). This is over and beyond the ones purchased at the end of January. I think we're almost done though! January's domains are to do with the new printer and laser engraver. We're in the process of working on the Etsy store now for the new domains and will post a link to the store shortly! Think packaging for crafters!

Our Story

I'm Suzette and my husband is Michael. We are two old folks who met a long long time ago in California while serving in the Army. First and foremost - we are crafters. No that's not quite right. We are craftaholics. Addicted. We've been crafting things since our little ones were little. Now they are coming home with littles of their own and we're starting to craft with them also! We're loving it, but we don't see the little ones as often as we would like and there is this void in the house.

We've took over two of the rooms in the house, bought some amazing hardware and started learning about sublimation. We go to conventions for people that do this stuff. At one of the conventions a few years back, Michael ran into an Epilog distributor showing off his Laser. We now have a laser. Last year, I fell in love with a Roland large format printer. The sublimation part of the crafting proved to be popular with the girls and their friends. They encouraged us to venture into the wonderful Etsy world. They'll be thrilled to learn we're working on our own website too!

We've made ceramics, candles, paper things, cards, buttons, magnets, pencils, hangers, paper confetti, engravings, embroidery, mouse pads, coffee mugs, etc. We've done a ton of craft shows, and have usually fared fairly well. Michael is awesome at building me our booths and figuring out awesome ways to package and present our crafted items so that they appear so much more professional than if we had just put them on a table by themselves.

The only thing that has really changed since the girls were little is the equipment that we use has gotten a lot fancier. We're no longer using a standard home style inkjet printer. Nope - we have a nice new fancy wide format Roland VG-540 that can print (and cut) things up to 54" x 150'. We're no longer using a Cameo Silhouette or Cricut. Nope. We've switched to an American Made Epilog Laser. We're no longer using a standard paper cutter - we've got one of those fancy machines that can precisely cut up to 500 sheets of paper at a time. We have decent mug presses and sublimation presses and have proven that we can personally make over 300 coffee mugs in a single 8 hour day.
