We're almost there! just a little over a week away from our "Smoketober" event at Sam's Club here in Logan. On October 19th the amazing Sam's club Super Chef, and World Food Championship competitor, RaChelle Hubsmith and I will be serving up an awesome dish using smoked brisket. Then on the 20th, we will have another great recipe using pulled pork. Make your plans to come out and sample some great food ideas.

Only 2 more Steaks comps on the schedule this year. We'll be at Heritage Meats in Orem next Saturday. If you're in the area come check it out. Heritage has amazing products. I have used ribs bought at Heritage to help win two Grand Championships this year.

Why do I compete in cookoffs? Well, the easy answer is that I'm a BS crazy. I have friends who will vouch for that. About 3 years ago, around the time I started cooking competitively I finished up my order at Panda Express and this was in the fortune cookie I opened. Since then it has been my pleasure to get to know some of the best outdoor cooks in the USA. The real reason I do it is that it is fun and I get to enjoy some amazing people. These are my people and my friends. Love you all...every one of you.
