Today, this arrangement made its way to a sweet resident at The Cambridge Assisted Living facility through our Petals of Kindness program.

Being able to donate flowers is one of the most meaningful parts of our little business. We get to create something beautiful simply because someone could use a little lift - and you help us find those people.

Itā€™s HOCO season and Iā€™ve seen a few boutonnieres exercising considerable independence. šŸ˜‚

So, a quick guide before the next round of pictures:

On a jacket, pin a traditional boutonniere high on the wearerā€™s left lapel, near the buttonhole. The flower should sit upright against the fabric, with the stem pointing down. If itā€™s hanging out near your ribs, move it up.

Please donā€™t tuck a traditional boutonniere into a jacket pocket. Pocket flowers are made for pockets. A traditional boutonniere belongs on the lapel.

No jacket? No problem. Place the boutonniere high on the left side of the shirt, near the collarbone. Shirt fabric offers less support, so check that itā€™s secure before photos.

Thatā€™s it. A few seconds of adjustment can make a remarkable difference - especially when those pictures will be around long after homecoming night. šŸŒø

We are honored to donate this silk arrangement to the auction at the Carpet Capital Association of Realtorsā€™ Casino Night Charity Fundraiser.

All proceeds will go to St. Jude Childrenā€™s Research Hospital in honor of Ellie Jane Bramlett - and guests can expect a fun night filled with casino games, food and plenty of wonderful items to bid on, including this little beauty.

Iā€™m used to being surrounded by flowers, but every once in a while, thereā€™s an arrangement I find myself admiring every time I pass it.

This was one of those.
