We tried to embody the feeling of a 70s or 80s speed shop. We can just picture some old race car aficionado that may not have the best shop or the most expensive tools, but no one could rival his understanding and abilities in performance. A patron looking for the man's shop stopped in and said, "I could hardly find the place. You need a sign." The owner went to the neighboring farm and found a random structure in the edge of the woods. He threw it up and hung his custom made sign on it for all the world to see.

It's time for the sequel to Days of Thunder, and it's time for the Southern 500! Take a left from Cheraw and you'll find the shop. Take a right and you'll find Darlington Raceway

This morning we stood the new, old tower upright and anchored it in the ground. You're looking of 25 feet plus of Days of Thunder and Darlington Raceway coming right at you. It would have been a simple task with a large tele-handler or crane, but what's the fun in that? As we've said many times, we're just problem solvers. And today we used two small tractors, a come-a-long, a make-shift 3;1 and a ton of clamps to accomplish the task, all under the watchful eye of Ole Lamar. That's a feat in itself! Stay tuned because it's Race Week around these parts.

We're always longing for those moments of pure joy and excitement when we see a project, at whatever stage it may be in, and realize we really created something unique and/or special. We felt that early on with this one when our only marching orders were to create something "Clemson" for a game room wall. Nothing says Clemson more than an orange Tiger Paw and Esso.
