Although Periott has been sold and is getting ready to write in his next home, we thought it’d be cool to show his oil lamp working! ✍️

An ode to the talented and fabulous Dolly Parton. Rest in peace to Solvang and America’s sweetheart. All of us here at Renaissance Antiques are huge fans and were heartbroken to hear the news of her passing. May her legacy live on forever.💗

This animated cast-iron mechanical bank made by J. & E. Stevens dates to the 1880s and features the colorful character “Paddy and the Pig.” The bank depicts a seated Irishman holding a pig across his lap, the two figures arranged face-to-face in a comical encounter. A coin is placed upon the pig’s snout, and with the press of the lever, the pig raises its foot and kicks the coin directly into Paddy’s open mouth. At the same moment, Paddy’s eyes roll dramatically upward, adding another layer of movement to the amusing action. Retaining its colorful painted finish, the bank is as entertaining today as it was more than 140 years ago! A big thank you to our neighbors Fitzpatrick's Tavern for hosting Paddy and getting him a well-deserved guinness 🍻
Do you dare feed Paddy?

It’s never too late to celebrate July’s riveting birthstone: The Ruby 🌹 Historically known as “The King of Precious Stones” and derived from the Latin word ruber (meaning red), the famous Ruby was a highly sought-after gem of European Royalty and upper class with the belief that rubies assured success in love, health, wealth, and wisdom. Centuries later, the ruby still holds up to its rich history with consumers drawn to this gem for its luscious, deep color that still signifies success and wealth.
