Before the holiday weekend, we hit the road for a commercial measuring appointment in the beautiful mountain towns of Middlesboro and Pineville, Kentucky. We measured a couple of bank locations for new custom blinds and window treatments, and we're excited to help bring a fresh, professional look to these spaces.
One of the things I love most about this job is getting to travel all across Kentucky. Every town has its own story. Middlesboro is one of the only cities in the world built inside a meteor crater and is home to the beautiful Cumberland Gap National Historical Park and the Cumberland Gap Tunnel, an engineering marvel that connects Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia. The area is steeped in history, as thousands of early pioneers traveled through the Cumberland Gap on their journey west.
Just a few miles away, Pineville is rich in Appalachian heritage. It's home to the iconic Chain Rock at Pine Mountain State Resort Park, where visitors can take in breathtaking mountain views. The town is also surrounded by an impressive floodwall system that was built to protect the community after devastating floods, standing today as a symbol of Pineville's strength and resilience.
Before heading home, we enjoyed lunch at the lodge at Pine Mountain State Resort Park. Between the beautiful scenery, great food, and peaceful mountain atmosphere, it was the perfect way to wrap up a productive day on the road.
