Hanging the stockings, reading under a cozy blanket and starting a cracking fire. These are some of my favorite December traditions.

I longed for a stocking that felt like an heirloom... nubby and textured... Handmade yet stretchy... The perfect December accessory that would be loved for generations.

After searching unsuccessfully for this imagined stocking, it became my mission to make it. We worked for two years with our friends to bring this design to life. The result is better than I imagined.

Hand knit in Peru in limited quantities, these stockings are the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one. Every detail is perfectly imperfect, right down to the tassel.

I’m still so tickled by the recognizing this amazing project we did for in 2023 and selecting us for the Jewel Box Design design award. The San Francisco Design community is oozing with talent and we were up against some incredible projects. Humbled by this is an understatement.

This restaurant was more than just a project … it was a labor of love; an exploration into what is possible when given limited conditions with a great vision and amazing clients. It ticked all the boxes for us. Sustainable & New, contemporary yet warm, layered yet minimal and in the heart of San Francisco, my home since childhood.

After college, I worked in hospitality for nearly a decade and it gave me the restaurant bug. There’s nothing like it. Sascha Wagner spoke of the power of bars and restaurants to create community at the Awards on Thursday. These are special places where people come to eat, laugh, connect, unwind; To celebrate, to make memories, to form friendships and sometimes to find love (I’m looking at you 😉). To design a restaurant is to create a place for all of these wonderful human moments to happen. What an honor that is!

I’ve been designing spaces for nearly 20 years, but it’s been quiet, woven discreetly into the fabric of my “real” job. That’s all about to change. My friend Darius asked me if this award felt like my coming out party and the answer is … YES!! I’m a designer, bi***es. Stay tuned. There is so much more to come.

Plaid has a very special place in my heart. It’s both nostalgic and contemporary. Timeless in every iteration. When Kasthall introduced Tweed, a plaid rug with these gorgeous caramels and browns, I couldn’t wait to use it in a project. I love the way it grounds this dining room, playing off the cognac leather chairs with black details. Its earthiness is perfectly paired with Matthew Fredrick's colorful moth. Nearly 10 years later, this installation still feels fresh and bold. If you don't already, I highly suggest embracing the plaid. You won’t regret it.

In 2022 we collaborated with Sonoma County Artist .degischer to fabricate this custom installation at Google’s Humboldt Campus in Mountain View, CA. Using thousands of hand painted sea shells, applied individually across 100 linear feet, the Google Logo is a nod to the coastal beauty that surrounds the Bay Area campus.
